more rice Yea so.... I was drivin down the road a civic was next to me tryin to mess with me. It was a nice car, but of course it still was a civic n i wasnt going to get beat by him. I down shifted n started pulling on him and as i was bout a half a car length infront of him i could hear Him spraying nitrous. After that i still pulled on him but not fast it ended up to about a car length. We caught a light finally and he was no contest.
Later that night a friend of mine called his g/f and she was with a guy with a talon. We met up with them and he was talkin so much trash about how fast his car was. He showed me it,and it wasnt nothing but intake and exaust so then he was saying how he could beat anything around. So i asked him if he wanted to race. I told him my 99 T/a would run him. He looked at it and asked me if it was ram air (its not).So then he wanted to run for money. But i didnt want to so... we went from 35 and after 5 car lengths i shut down and of course he went flyin by. He said yea just wait till we get to a light so at the light i preceeded to do the same again. I love putting people like him in their place.

Re: more rice I'd definitely put $20 on that race - provided you checked there is no radical mods on his side. Anyway, $20 is not a lot of money, and if you took him of the light => he cannot drive.

Re: more rice I'm wondering how you could hear a car you were ahead of using nitrous. I mean, what was so different about the sound that you can be sure you heard it. I've used nitrous for years and I can't hear it. I only feel the difference in the acceleration. The engine makes the exact same sounds every time. There's simply no different noises whatever. The rpm rises more quickly with it than without it but, I can't hear a difference in sound. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: more rice well, i think what he means is that it reved quicker than without it...i can tell a difference when i hit n20 on my truck...it's not louder or anything, just the rpms never drop and they go up really quick

Re: more rice You aren't going to hear a car you've never seen before rev faster.... It won't happen. 1st of all, you don't know enough about it to give an estimate of how quickly it revs to begin with. 2nd, when you're ahead of a car, and you stay there, you'd be lucky to hear it at all, because your own car makes noise too!
If I can't hear a difference while sitting IN the car using nitrous, YOU can't hear one from ahead of it.
