Default Lightning Kill!!

I had just turned into Railhead, along with 15 other cars and trucks, and noticed everyone turning around. I pulled into the parking lot to turn also when I noticed a Ft Worth police car coming our way. Damn it! No racing tonight. After he pulled over a white transam, for doing a cute little tail slide, The rest of us went our seperate ways.
Pulling on to 820 I noticed a black Lightning ahead and thought now was a good time to see if I can kill one, my bottle having 4 races on it.
I caught up to him and waited for him to start the fun.
He hammers it and so do I, from around a 80 roll. We both sit side by side 85, 90, 95, 100.
At 105ish I start inching and inching. I guess around 125, my gauge only goes to 120, I am about to kill the juice and give up before the limiter hits when he hits his brakes. We slow down to around 80 when he rolls his window down and says "That thing is fast!"
I follow him to a gas station to ask if it is stock, it being the first Lightning I have raced.
He says he has a different blower pulley, exhaust, chip, and a air intake on it. He says he runs 8.0 in the 1/8th!
I am happy.

I'm going with a 214/220 Crower my self with 476/496 lift but will be running about 8psi of boost for now.

Should be a lightning killer as well when I get the new 383 engine installed

I wasn't to happy with the cam until the converter. The converter eliminated loss of low end power. Looking at the dyno the cam is still climbing at 6,200. The cold also helps the loss of low end punch.

I saw three Silverado's at the track on Friday night. Oddly, all three ran 15.30's.... Weird, but pretty good for pickups. I don't know what, if anything, was done to any of them. I was too busy chatting with other people, like the 3 GN owners, none of which really posted great times due to traction issues. Well, one did OK but that's another story.
