nice kill,i've taken out two zo6's(01 and a 02).the 01 was from a 20mph roll and KILLED him pretty bad .the 02 was from a dead stop and you can read about it now(01ws.6 vs 02z06)take a look.
the 02zo6 can put a asswhoopin on people.

I'm not saying you can't beat a Z06 at the track with your ET's and Vig. It happens all the time. I'm just saying if you beat one from a roll, you beat the driver and not the car.

Mike Hoffpauir, Look me up if your ever in Cali. I would be willing to do a 40-130mph run with you. It could be close. Why 40? Cause I need to get past that TC and monster 60'

if you spin past the 60' you can't compare 60' times trap times and et like that. with a 13.0 my mph was 104 with a 2.3 60' on one run and on another it was a 13.0 at 107 mph with a 1.9 60' in an auto. I was hooking better through the 60' and spinning worse after it in some runs.

this is all motor.

I ran an '01 Z06 with exhaust in September. We each had one passenger. We rolled into it from a 15 MPH roll and it was DEAD even to 85 MPH. It was a short race, but hey, it was on the street. I see no way for a car that runs 6 MPH slower trap speeds then my own, yet runs away from a Z06 from a roll.

Red, I'm here to back you up, I had much respect for the Z06 Corvette until I raced one myself, now, by reading my sig. you'll see that I'm not that heavily modded either, but about 2 weeks ago I was heading home from work when a ZO6 passed me on the interstate, this being the first one I have actually run across on the street, I pulled in behing him. After cruising for about 20 miles in traffic, he exited, so I followed. It took a few minutes but we finally ended up on a 2 lane highway that ended up as a 3 laner(our side had a passing lane. As soon as the passing lane started, I slammed my 6 speed into 3rd (about 70mph) and laid her to the carpet, I pulled him through 3rd, 4rth, and the start of 5th, (125mph) and then I let off, he went by and then suddenly slowed down as if to say "let's try it again. " So this time I stuck her in 4th and let her go- again I pulled him by 1 to 1.5 car lengths. Now for the record, this car had ZO6 wheels, and ZO6 badges so I have every reason to believe it was a ZO6, but I don't know if it was an auto or 6 speed, my impression was that they were supposed to be something impressive with their advertised 405hp. I'm a believer that a lightly modded F-body can beat a Z06 with only minor mods.

You need to put down whatever it is you are smoking and step away from the keyboard. That is the most foolish statement I have seen. I guess it all depends on what mods you are giving each car. But lightly modded f-body to lightly modded ZO6, you will be seeing tail lights dude. Not barely walking away, but "see ya later bye" walking away. I have raced a couple of f-bodies and they were VERY definitive victories.......I am BONE STOCK. Please don't get me wrong. I live in the land of some of the fastest f-bodies on this planet(Houston). I respect every one I roll up on. I know they are out there. This isn't an opinion either. It is physics. That would be gearing, power and weight and aerodynamics(advantage over 100mph).....all in the advantage of the ZO6. Lets not forget tires either. The weight is the biggest difference.....3100lbs vs 3700lbs........geez. What does your car dyno? Based on the mods in your sig, a ZO6 should spank you easily. All other things being equal, you need about 400rwhp in an F-body to cancel out the above advantages. If you put in gears, then you can shave some off of that figure. If you can loose weight(that is a tough one)....tires....you get the picture.

First of All great kill.
Second, forget about drivers, tracks, or whatever else you want. A SLIGHTY modified Fbody has no chance over a stock Z06 from a roll. Car Vs. Car. With no other variables accounted for. Car Vs. Car. I'm sure i will get bashed for this but that is the truth. I'm not biased either. I have a vette but not a Z.

No way, no how. 600 lb difference that is .5-.6 on a quarter mile. Thats not even getting into the extra ponies, better gearing and aerodynamics. I'm not calling b.s. but he either couldn't drive or was running on 7 cylinders. And ILLWIN "and auto ZO6" WHAT????

Yes, Ash, there is a difference in gearing. The M12 into a 3.42 rear end, if you do the math comes out to about a 3.90 in reference to the MN6 going into a 3.42. So, YES, there is a difference. And Illwin, there is no such thing as an Automatic ZO6.....which quantifies the brilliance of your post.

You have no advantage in gearing.

I live in Texas also and race at a lott of different tracks. The 01 Zo6 with a driver not afraid to push it to the max run 12.6-12.3 at 114 to 115mph.O2 Zo6 run 12.4 to high 11s at 115 to 118mph. There are drivers out there that can not run below a 13.00,but that does not mean the car want. You got lucky but a race is a race.

A 3700lb F-body? Mines is only 3477. Of course without me in it. but that would make it 35 and change. No where near 3700lbs. The Z06 is 31 and change but then you have to add the driver too. F-bodies can easily lose the weight. Change the glass!! Especially the rear hatch. That thing is heavy!

He weighed his 2000 Z28 and said it was 3800lbs!!!...w/o him in it. Dunno if he was hauling around dumbells in the trunk or what. But that kinda surprised me. Is that 3477lbs on your car stock weight or does that have a little weight reduction measures? BTW, many ZO6s come in under 3100lbs....w/o the driver.

I won fair and square, Im not hear to argue, FLYNLO, I won, damn all the car had was an exhaust and I have about 10 Grand Under my hood. The Z06 was a 2001(385 HP), like I said Im not here to argue I just wanted to post a kill since the Street Racing and Kill Stories has been down for a while. Maybe thats why people dont post because their afraid of getting flamed and bashed for a freakin' kill from people like you. I dont bullshit or lie. We just saw a white Z06 with headers, Slicks, H Pipe, etc. Run a best of a 13.2 here at our track. Not all Z06's come with big nuts out of the factory, some come out fast as hell and others not. Im sure if it would have had more mods I would have had my *** cracked but u dont know how my car runs either.

I thought that the Z06 had a titanium exhaust and that is part of the reason they are so light. Just wondered why a guy would change the exhaust.

Red I beleive you! I spank 01 Z06's with my mods so it is possible. I only put down 350 to the rear wheels after the gear change but it is so much quicker. The 3.73 and 3rd gear in a auto would rock for high speed rolls. Good kill.

a kill is a kill.. period.. BUT for anyone racing a Z most of the time they drive with TC on... i pose this... drive one with the TC on.. then you will see why you won... put it in comp mode or TC off... whole other story.. my stock Z06 ran 12.5's at 114 with a 2.03 60'... not bashing F-bodies.. i have one of those too.. but call an orange and orange... you beat the driver dude.. period.. modded or not.. make a trip to z06vette.com.... more than a few guys in oyur area who would be willing to put their money where their mouth is... again not slamming your ride.. it is VERY respectable.. but this takes me back to the days when i was in HS with my 66 GTO... thought it was the fastest thing on wheels.. didn't matter it was the fastest in the parking lot.. wish i had a cool set of parents when i was your age with a ride like that.. must be nice.. kids must make more today to be able to afford a toy like that

sounds to me like there is some cry baby vette boys out there a kid posts a kill story and then the yuppie vet guys get all upset. how about we take that 20k less for our f body cars and see what happens.BTW spankin a vette is even better than blasting by a ricer just because some vet owners think thier sh*t don't stink!!!! nice kill kid. now if you were only 21 we could to your win
