Can a typhoon kick my as$? Just wanted to know because there's a guy up here that has one. I don't know if it's modded (I'll have to check that later) and I don't know too much about them, I only heard they had a turbo V6. Should I worry? He really wants to race me.

Typhoon probably not unless it is pretty heavily modded.

Cyclone, yes it could hand you your *** if you are not careful.

That is a pretty potent powerplant, and they are plain nasty off of the line.

AWD and boost=launches like a ****. if it is short distances like stoplight to stoplight or the ty is modded pretty good watch out. typhoons are heavier than the syclones, so you have that in your favor. i believe they are like mid to hi 14's stock. they are fun to drive though <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

I'm going out in a few minutes to see my gf. I'll be at the races later at night, after the gf visit . Hopefully he'll be there and I could ask him what he has. A question comes up though...What if he is modded and he doesn't want to show me his goods? I guess I'll have to find out and get my as$ handed to me the hard way. <-----Hate to say that! I'll clue you guys in...

I raced 2 typhoons in the early/mid 90's and lost to both. I had a Talon that ran high 13's and was awd. Even with that the Typhoon still walked me on takeoff. Both races were on the street. Be careful, I hear they respond well to slight, little mods. Good Luck !

White Typhoon - Your truck looks great. The guy yesterday had a black one though. Black...mmmmm. I wish I can take yours off your hands. The only way that would happen was if you were a dealer I can get financing from. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I want that truck!

Anyways, yes, I ran into the guy yesterday at the races late last night. He was stock, that's what he told me. To make a long story short, I did race him. Obviously I had no contest off of the line. Whhooooossh! No tire smoke. Barely a chirp from the rubber. He was gone. I was still letting go of the clutch <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> . He got a 2-3 car length ahead of me. (Now, just imagine for a sec, the crowd staring me down and rooting for the Ty. I felt kinda intimidated.) Now when my first gear finally engaged I thought it would be a long haul to catch up. 2nd went in then 3rd...nothing, I was catching but he still had me by 1 or 2 car lengths. It was by the 4th gear at over 100mph when I past him. As soon as I past him I shut down, I had to, over 100mph <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> is crazy on the roads! Whew, I thought I was going to lose. It was quite an experience. That makes want to get mods for my car. Man! I have to get that truck. Maybe keep the T/A indoors and the Ty for daily driving. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Tell me something, did I really win? I ask this because it took over 100mph to get the victory. That sucks!

And what speed do you trap at in a 1/4 mile? If you pulled ahead going say 101mph and you trap at 107 then it would be a win...

There was a mid 10's Syclone at a local track last summer. It wasn't all that heavily modded either. They have the potential to haul ***.

A guy that lives near me has a syclone, with a boost contoller and a couple things i dont remember ..... but with the boost up its a low 12sec truck, its fast off the line and everything but from a roll they suck.

They are definately a lot slower from a roll, but I was still able to keep up with that LT1 T/A on the highway before we got off and went from a slower speed. I was definately surprised though. I was expecting to get my *** handed to me on the highway.

I have a Typhoon and I'll tell you right now that they are definately quick. If the phoon is modded, it will give you a run for your money. Stock they run 13.9-14.1 in the 1/4 and 0-60 in 5.3 sec. I raced an LT-1 T/A once and walked him bad. And that was without launching. But I'd definately recommend racing him. If you beat him, you can say you beat a Typhoon and if you don't atleast you'll get to see how fast they are.

BTW, I'm actually selling my Typhoon. just thought I'd let you guys know incase anyone was interested. You can look at pics at www.cardomain.com/id/whitetyphoon .
