The recall was issued for the 1999 Cobra. They were advertised to have 320 hp but most were putting down like 250-270, pretty much GT specs. Ford's explanation was excessive flashing in the intake manifolds, and the engines intake too. After the recall most 99 Cobras are aound 280rwhp. Ford has HUGE income from their complete truck line, minivan line, and upcomming midcars. These performance cars(Cobras)are just promotional kicks. Ford doesn't rely on these cars for their sales, just like Chevy doesn't rely on the Vette.
