Well, out here in Kansas I have several stang friends with stocker v-8 and some modified, and I think a v-6 f-body would beat these . My t/a can kick lots o butt. Out we have women young to old driving these, and young men trying to take my brand on and seem to fail every time. That is until they have mom and dad buy a supercharger or NOS and then they want to race. They don't want to race pure power rather they want to race with dollars signs.

Dollar signs you say??? When was the last time that an LS1 (Z-28 or T/A) was the same price as a same year Mustang GT?? Keep in mind that Mustang engines are 44 inches (302) and 65 inches (281) at a disadvantage compared to an LS1. So by putting on a supercharger or NOS, in essence one is trying to bridge that cubic inch gap btwn. an LS1 and a 281 or 302. And by purchasing a power-adder, it still does not come close to equalling the price of an LS1. Say whatever you want about Mustangs being slow, but the cold hard facts are 1)Mustangs are less expensive, and 2)Mustangs have a smaller engine than LS1's. And until the 2003 Cobra a stock LS1 could beat any stock Mustang. Thanks for your time.

Don't start the age old argument about cost. Does that mean my car is better than a Z06 because it cost $21,000 less? Do you know what I could do with 21 grand in mods?
Also the new 03 Cobra cost 35,000. I can get a supercharger for the extra $6,000 and do you think the Cobra would be faster than my car?

So your value is based on what it takes in dollars to make a car faster than another car. Okay, you have to spend money to make a Mustang GT as fast as my car stock. And then I spend the same amount on my car. Now it's faster and you have to play catch up again and spend more money. But you argue that your initial cost was less. Your right, but your car is worth less and you will get less when you sell it. So you see, you get what you pay for, which is why the Z06 is a good value.
So you were right to say the Mustang is less expensive, but because of that, it is also worth less.

Look man, I did not start the argument, if you read my post you should figure out that I was trying to explain to SpeedyG that he is wrong. Thats all. I know all about LS1's, Mustangs, and value, trust me. I appreciate the clarification, but I am smarter than to start an argument about this, especially on an LS1 site.
Peace.

Vstang, it's cool, I wasn't trying to argue. I was just making a point about value being as important as cost. A lot of people over look that. Vettes have really good resale value, wish I could say that about my car. Maybe that will change, who knows.
And as far as SpeedyGs comments....well I'm not even sure what he was trying to say?
Perhaps he is trying to say;
rather than run naturally aspirated motors, they choose the easier approach and use their parents money. At least that is my interpretation. Still not a good argument of any kind. Who cares how you get the money or even which method of power gain you use? I'm not sure how this factors into anything?
