Shhhh!

I'm trying to sucker some domestics into racing my "ricer." I will be like, "yeah it's a rotary it's built so it sounds exactly like an alum v-8 with a huge cam in it." hehe

Even with the LS1 in my RX-7 I doubt that it will 0-60 or 1/8mi faster than my old Talon on street tires. It's just a matter of traction. Now from a roll, that will be a whole different game since my Talon only trapped at 112mph.

I had a little AWD turbo that would run the local 1/8th faster than any car domestic or otherwise at the local track. Would take a stockish Vette by a solid 1.2 to 1.5 seconds. Boy did I love to sucker bet people to race me in that car...

FYI...my car on the old setup trapped 100 in the 1/8 (have to dig up the timeslip for the ET) and it is a daily driver. It is by no means the fastest local domestic daily driver (We'll see about that with the 404ci motor and TH400)!

I guess the bottom line is believe what you want...

Pssst...IronDonut. Take it to www.clubsi.com. No one cares here. By the way, you're barking up the wrong tree on this site. More than half of the members on this board run 11.5 or better. There are some monster LS1's that will eat you for brunch too.

Well here is the difference, my Talon ran 7.9 on STREET TIRES vs your 7.7 on slicks. Big difference. On street tires RWDs no matter the horsepower didn't have a chance. And from a stoplight when you rarely get over 60-70mph forget about it. Unless you can pull off a 1.6 60' on cold street tires AWD will own you.

Lets see, my RX-7 has an LS1 in it with a TR230-111 and it weighs 2800lbs soaking wet to your 3500lb F-Body.... Now it doesn't take a physics degree from MIT to figure out who has the advantage. Same motor in a lighter chassis with superior suspension do the math.

I just saw your 1/4 and trap. 12.2? I wish you were local. I would so make you my bitch. I pulled a 12.3 on my old 4 cyl on STREET TIRES slick boy. You can imagine what would happen if we lined up at a light...

You're about 180hp short of just pulling even with the Mazda. Call me when you get a blower or JATO. ha ha.

I haven't run there in a few years. I gave the car to my bro who lives in Orlando he had the motor built by a race shop and it's good for high 11s now. He doesn't race it tho...

7.8 at the JAX track on street tires is really impressive. That is one slick *** launch pad.

Never been on JaxRacing.com. I will check it out right now.

7.7 1/8? lol Theres a Chevelle in my town that boasts mid 7's in the 1/4 but it is a trailor queen . Sadder yet its not mine and I don't have a car that even thinks about times like that . Sorry about the loss to the ricer man. At least you're man enough to admit you lost though I bet if he had lost he would've ed to all his friends. That or just claim that "he "hung" and only has 4cylinders so your V8 doesn't have crap for as big as it is", I hate when they pull that one.

the reason he won was ONE and ONE only.

not hp not torque but WEIGHT.

He probably REALLY gutted the sh*t out of it.

i wouldn't be suprised if his car weighs 900 pounds less than yours.

the H22a is a Prelude engine.

ok, for one my 12.2 was on kumho's. yep street tires. I have ET Streets and a nice stall coverter too along with 150 shot jets. I'm thinking 1.4-1.5 60's now and somewhere around 11.2 for an ET.

Second, I thought you were a dumbass ricer trying to peddle that "my grocery getter import is unbeatable" crap. I was wrong there. I didn't realize you had an import LS1 conversion. My apologies there. BUT, you making me your bitch would never happen. I might lose a race, but I've never lost a fight. Just kidding. It's alright. I'm kinda hoping to sucker some people in high end cars into an *** whipping. 911 Turbo, some AMG Benzes, and of course the modded domestic v-8s.

some of you guys sound like ricers yourselves with the excuses. weight, money blah blah blah. give it a rest. if you lose you lose if you win you win. im not a rice fan at ALL but some are fast get over it.

however, there certainly arent as many fast imports as there are made out to be by some in this thread. ive been to the track dozens of times over the past couple years on "ricer night" aka test and tune night. ive seen ONE honda run 12's and a few run 13's and thats it. fastest import ive ever seen was a supra that ran mid 11's. regardless of how fast they are, they dont appeal to me in the slightest. that sound TOTALLY kills it, i could never ever drive a car that sounded like that .

I'm in JAX and I have an import that will be on the road in a few weeks and should have no problems with low 11s.

I also used to run an AWD Talon at JAX's 1/8th that ran 7.9 @ 91 on street tires. Not a street driven domestic there could keep up. The only thing that I ever lost to were trailer queens and I even beat a few of those.

By the way. Just becuase you go to the track, doesn't mean that you see what is going on around you. Must of the imports do not show up when there are alot of domestics. How about you try going to an import shootout. You will see civics in the 10's 9's 8's and there are a couple in the 7's. Not to mention close to the 6's. they are just more reliable, cheaper, and get twice the gas mileage. plus, they have the potential to be fast for much less than say an ls1. thats why people buy them

Please tell me you were kidding.

Dollar for dollar, the LS1 will ALWAYS be faster. I've spent $3,200, and look at my trap speed and my dyno numbers. For that amount of money, an import would run 13's at best.

It may be "Ricer" to talk about money, but I'm just trying to prove a point here.

As far as reliability, the import MAY be more reliable in stock form, but I've seen imports **** themselves at the track on a 50 shot. I'm not just talking one either. I'm talking several. Yet, I've never seen an f-body **** itself.

I'll agree with you on the gas mileage part, but that's what thier made for.
