not true. regardless of what that site says, a 69 ZL1 camaro was clocked in stock for except tire at 10.6 in the 1/4. can you think of anything faster?

ZR1s were a COPO and there were only 69 of them...Plus, that test was conducted with slicks and open headers.

The other sites state a little better times. For what it's worth, people have run 10's or better with less few mods than his WS6 as well.

I agree, but A BBC can be an absolute Monster. Most of the LS1 cars running that will little or no mods are around 3000lbs. Though I have seen some slow BBC "race cars" as well.

All of the fastest musclecars such as LS6s, Hemis, and Stage I Buicks, the ones that go for millions nowadays, were only mid to low 13 sec. cars, with an emphasis on mid. So, any LS1 car stock will beat any Muscle era car stock, and with the mods you have blkbrd, you will smoke him.

All of those cars had little to no tire made out of hockey pucks. I really think one of the big advantages our cars have stock, is the tires are sooooooooo much better. LS6s and the lighter Hemi cars would run deep 12's with tire only.

Having had a few of these beast, I can agree with that. The rubber available today is light years ahead of what I had to deal with then. I would love to have one of my previous toys and a set of MT DR's now. The Cobra would have a hard time against some of them.

I used to own a 70 SS 396 Chevelle, although it was fast, its a big car and its heavier than the F bod ~3800 lbs.

Try not to embarrass him too bad, lol.

Thats about the equivalent of putting a C5R 427 in a Camaro today. Not truely a "stock" car.

They did a test on several muscle cars on a show I saw on Spike TV not long ago. They had a 429 Boss, Cutlass 442 and a few others. NONE of their times were very impressive. Traps speeds were not that great either. I think the fastest was the 429 Boss running 13.7 ets @103ish

I smoked an all original 66 SS 396 in my 1991 Mustang Convert. All it had done to it at the time was full exhaust and some suspesion work. Then while I was 4-5 cars ahead of him my friend in his 96 T/A come flying past both of us. Hence the reason I now own a Fbody.

Just when you thought that all the drama was over. Hey man, did you read all the other posts? He wouldn't get his car out when I had mine there, and then when I didn't drive mine he wants to get his out. By the way, I didn't offer him a ride in the first place. He wanted to ride in it to see what it had. But if you are mindset that I'm an a$$hole...that's ok I guess, you won't be the first.

Honestly, whats the big deal. Your car stock would be a better race, now you will absolutely "KILL" him and Chevelle. It weighs alot more and puts down alot less power, he would need a whole lot of Nitros and or supercharger to make it a race worth watching. Please film it and please drive the sht out of your car, running those RPM's like they need to be ran.
