Ran a CLK55 tonight
I took my sister's fiance for a ride in my car this evening. He wanted to see what the new LS6 intake and ported TB did. He started talking about his friend's dad's CLK55. He mentioned that his dad was out of town and he was probably out and about.
I told him to give him a call. Sure enough...he was out. He was reluctant to run at first, since his dad would kill him if he knew he was driving it. I told him that we really didn't have to line up side by side and we could go from a slow roll. He then agreed to meet up with us.
I was in front and he paced me at about 30 mph. I figured it was fair that I got the hit since he had no passengers and I had my 250 lb future brother-in-law in the passenger seat. I hit it and pulled about a car instantly and slowly pulled quite a few cars up to about 160 (my best estimate is about 5-6 cars total). We ran twice and it was about the same result each time.
That was a sweet freakin' car.
BTW I have a full bolt-on A4 2000 Z28 with a 3500 stall and 2.73 gears.

Why not...flat, open road...nobody around...plus I wanted to see if it would hang up that high. It actually seemed to hang better at higher speeds. Actually, only one run made it up that high...the second only got up to about 130.

If it said AMG on the back then something is DEFINATELY not right. A bolton LS1 WITH 2.73s putting 5-6 cars on a low 12 second car

More like a low 13 sec car, high 12 sec car from what I've read. It looks to be around 360 horse.

I ran one this saturday at the local 1/8 mile track. It was an 02 I don't know if it was a clk or slk if it mattered but I do remember it said amg something 55. I was kind of nervous at first. He ran a 9.52 @75 to my 7.94 @86 I was like wtf.... Then he asked me if I wanted to install nitrous on his car.I think I would be a bit too nervous to start drilling holes and cutting wires on a car thats worth more than my house and car combined!!!

Nope. Plain E55s, S55s Mercs are not AMGs and they don't have blowers. Now the AMG versions of those cars will say so right on the trunk. E55 AMG, S55 AMG and they are a different beast from the non-AMG ones. Pretty quick for a "luxury" heavy *** car. Even the chick car SLK 55 AMG is quick although it's not supercharged. Just has the bigger motor (V8) in a smaller car.

AMG versions are often an appearance package...rims, ground effects, etc. Just because it says AMG (which they DO COME LIKE THAT) does NOT mean that it is supercharged.
There is no SUCH THING AS A PLAIN E55, or S55. When they have these disgnations, they are AMG's. It's as simple as that.
However, in many cars, as I stated in the first paragraph, like a lot of CLK430's, they will say AMG (FROM THE DEALER). They have the AMG rims, handling package, interior, etc. This does NOT mean they are supercharged.
At any rate, the CLK55 is a 5.5litre (I think, it might be 5.4, I don't remember) motor that is NOT supercharged. It still makes 375hp though.
The S55, SL55, and E55 are ALL supercharged. The Sl65 is a twin/bi turbo 12cylinder, just like the newer SL600's.
