if it is stock you will kill him, they are a quick car from the factory, but not ls1 quick. I am guessing here but i bet his car is a high 14 second car.

I thought they were low 14/high 13 second cars? Supposidly competition for the supra.

I use to own a 1990 300ZX TT from 1998-2002. I had an HKS CAI, Catback !CATS. My 97 Z28 with just a Catback is faster than the 300 was. They are very close in comparison with LT1s stock for stock. Not in the league of Supra TTs.

They were/are capable of solid 13's. Avg. is probably mid 14's given the fact that not everyone can drive a turbo car to the full potential.

Either way, you should make quick work of him IF he's all stock. Doesn't take much to make 350ish rwhp though so be careful....

They are still pretty heavy. The TTs weigh about the same as an F-body. Stock they put down between 240-260ish RWHP. And it is not that difficult to drive a turboed car to its potential IMHO. Once I hit about 3k RPMs, you could really feel the boost kick in. One thing I will say about it, though my LT1s are quicker, I have YET to drive a car that could out handle it.

Prolly a low 14 sec. car, you'll take him pretty easily.

I raced a buddy in his 300TT (intake, cat back boost contrller running 1 or 2 psi over stock) with my lid/cutout 01 z-28 (m6) and put 4-6 car lengths on him from 60 to 120mph. You should have no trouble with a stock 300tt.

Now if he's changed the intercoolers, dp's, and upped the boost, you could be in trouble. I've seen them trap 111-115 with those mods and a little race gas (he needed the driver! mod more than any thing because his et was 13.9-13.8). But at that level, they're a real bitch to get to hook.

Later,
Dave

yeah i think they can get approx 400hp with int/exh and computers to change the boost, but most people wouldnt change the intercoolers first b/c theres two of them....not too fast, but i like the way they look

If hes stock you wont have a problem, but everyone underestimates the Z's. As a few have said, 350rwhp is easy to get with full exhaust, ecu, and boost controller. I raced many Ls1 cars and had no problem putting several cars on them. Heres an 01' SS with headers, cutout, and tune vs me on 14psi with Dp's and full exhaust.

Not trying to steal this thread, but just last nite a buddy was talking to this girl that has a friend with one of these cars. Says this girl races it and that everyone is afraid to race her. This is at a college campus 1.5hrs away. I might have to make a trip down there one weekend and race her for that sweet little ***
