Homeland Security ?? wtf ??
I don't want to jump into the "street racing" debate aside from the fact that if you are racing on the "wrong" street and endangering the lives of others, guys that is totally wrong and has nothing to do with mods or emissions.... now a comment....
For the most part, our cars are tuned better and run better than 98% of the cars on the on the road. Being an LS1 means your ride is no older than a 97 (for a vette) or a 98 for the rest of us, the engine is inherently very clean running and emissions compliant. It should not matter what mods are made, if the vehicle can pass a sniff test and I know this to be law, if the vehicle is in the top 15% of cars production of emissions wise, they are exempted from testing in this state.... now youre gonna say that dont mean **** cos if youve tampered with your emissions or altered the stock configuration it don't matter how clean you run, youre screwed...... I say bullshit.... the state could generate a whole bunch of revenue like this.... charge an enthusiest $50 for an exemption (if his car is in the top 15%) regardless of what one has done to it at smog check time. All the smog shops now have another source of income, the state pockets the additional fee, the state saves money not having to spend resources enforcing this crap.... and you and I are more than willing to pay the "fee"...... It would work

screw arnold and california for not letting people modify their cars the way they want to. its my car, I live in the bayarea and I'm not gonna let some peice of paper tell me what I can do to my car and what I cant. I dont pay a monthly payment every month to not modify my car.
**** this state I need to move.

Anyways, I work in the U2 program here at Beale AFB (northern Cali) and we use 'mobiles' to follow the jet as it lands to let the pilot know how far he is from the ground. We've been using LT1 and LS1 Camaros for many years now, but just got two 05 LS2 GTOs to start replacing them!! Can't wait to take it to the runway with no rules
Oh, and if anyone happens to vacation around Sac, let me know and we can hook you up with a ride following a jet, it's pretty fun
