Now if he had a little sentra SE-R that they made a while ago and had a turbo LOOK OUT. Those engines were good to 500 hp with stock internals. Fortunatly integras adn civics dont have a stout motor so ya dont have to worry bout every turbo civic ya see.
Kinda side note, A few years ago i was at a auto-x and there was a turbo civic there. I wasent into turbos as much then so it was all greek to me BUT he did tell me his HP. 195 at the wheels...... I about ****. Said "Sweet" and walked away laughin.

500hp would need 30psi out of a nice ball bearing turbo and with all that air stock internals will melt in a minute!!!

If this guy is putting 350 to the ground I think you would be in for a tough race. Ive seen some in that range beat slightly modded F-bodies and Mustangs without much problem. The biggest problem was TRACTION. I would say race him but not for money.

A car like that will never see 350hp on a stock bottom end, and even then not without God's own turbo or a t4 and a sizable shot of n2o. You have realistically nothing to worry about.

t3/t4 could give him 350whp at 22-25psi. You can make those cars pretty powerful, but I don't think stock bottom end can handle more than 250whp. You gotta sleeve those engines to get something out of them.

ive been trying to tell him that i dont thinks theres anyway hes gonna make over 350hp but he convinced because there is a kid whos daddy bought him a teg and put a big turbo on it and all kinds of head work and w/e and aperently hes has over 300hp and he ran a 13 sumthing but he had a 2sec delayed start because somthing fell off the dash onto him when he tried to launch but his car spanks z28s and TA all the time..so my friend is determined to be faster then this guy and i think all the guys at the shop are lying out there *** about how much power hes gonna make

[QUOTE=OdessitPashka]500hp? 300-320 max. I know a few guys with turbo se-r's, he's pushing his car to the limit with 300whp right now.

The stock sr20de motor is good for 350whp reliably with some people running over 400whp with cams. The sr20det (non-US turbo version) has been run at over 500whp w/cams, stock gaskets and all w/o N20. Built motors have put out 520whp on a reasonable 20psi. My SE-R puts out over 300whp w/cams and a little T28. Not up to LS1 potential, but pretty tough little motors.

He might get you. However, simply installing the turbo without regard for traction gives you the advantage. He needs to address more than horsepower with that FWD car.

Even with "only" 250whp in a HB or Teg, that's POTENTIAL for low 13's/high 12's easy.
You fella's need to get a grip on reality. It doesn't take 600+wrhp to run 10's in a light little car like those. With a solid 400rwhp you can run 10's in one of those.
DISCLAIMER Obviously I'm saying that's the "norm", but for the serious tuners that have the money to actually get that kind of HP out of 1.6-2.2 liters and know what they're doing, it's VERY realistic.
I'd say if he's making a solid 200-250whp, and you're stock (you didn't list any mods), and you run from a roll, it could very well be a good run.

[QUOTE=b13bliss] I never claimed anything about Nissan motors, did I? I was saying that honda motors will not be able to get those numbers with stock bottom end.
They might have the ability to be in low 13s with 250whp, but there only a few people that can actually take their cars to those levels.
