Stock LS1 TA V.S. '94 Mustang GT 306...Who's Gonna Win?
I got a buddy of mine who just got a '94 GT who wants a friendly run. His mods are- 306ci, Trick Flow upper/lower, Pro Topline Alumin. heads, .533/.544 Comp. cam, 1.72's, 80mm TB, 80mm MAF, LT's, all bolt-ons, alumin. driveshaft, 3.73's, Tremmec 3550, and DR's.
My car is all stock except for a Bullet mufler.
In a heads up run from a dig through a full 1/4, who's gonna win??
Jon

Hmmm....just my opinion but I dont think he will beat you that bad or even at all for that matter...His car is heavier than yours and with the MANY experiences with small block ford fuelies i dont think he has you in HP by much at all...his t-body and MAF are way too big for a 306...(i ran a 75mm on a 600 hp windsor) so i figure he lost torque and hp on that. All and all i figure maybe 310-330 rwhp..could be wrong though...RUN HIM

80mm TB? My thats quite large. Who knows man, if the cars set up with a good tune and can hook, its an easy 11 second car. But as with everything there are lots of variables. I would say looking at the mod list that hes going to destroy you, but you never know until he runs you.
Ive got a couple friends with similar mod lists, but one comes to mine specificaly.
90 LX
CHP 306
AFR 185 Heads 64cc 10.1
FMS F cam
Pro-M 75mm MAF
70mm TB
1.6 RRs
MAC LTs
O/R X
Flowmasters
335 rwhp 321 rwtq

My friend has a 94 gt with a 347 stroker and he barely, yet consistently, pulled on my other friends 01 z28 with intake and exhaust. We were both pretty damn impressed by the way the Z stuck with him. I'd pick your TA any day to beat a 306.

SN95 Mustangs are a little lighter than 4th Gen F-bodies.

before i got my camaro i owned a built 94 5.0 cobra with pertty much the same mods the guy your running has except it was a 5speed and i ran street tires.
now, my transmission wasnt in the best shape by anymeans (2nd was hardly there), but the best i ever got out of it was 9.4-9.5 in the 1/8th. even with a perfectly new tranny it wouldnt have beat my z/28. kept up maybe, but certianly not beat. just my .02

The recipe for 12s years ago used to be a short-belt, slicks, gobs of timing and a good icing along with a steep gear.
But the point is now days most 5.0Ls are tired and owned idiots that neither know how to care for them or make them run hard. But a well set up 5.0L stock or near stock should be able to run an 8.9. Chances are you arent going to see it happen. My personal experience with stockish 5.0Ls running hard is this.
SD car 87 GT with a 3.55 gear and an O/R H with flowmasters went 13.8@100 street tires. I think he managed a 12.1@109 on a 125 shot as well slicks of course.
If I would have cared to leave my Mustangs stock for more than a few minutes I might have gotten some good stock times as well.

I had a 94 Mustang GT with a 306. Mods included a Edelbrock victor 5.0 intake, BBK 75mm T/B, 77mm Maf, Lunati cam ( 226/230 at 50, 567/570 lift and 112 center.), Trick flow twisted wedge heads (out of the box), DSS main support. Drive train mods are TKO tremec, alum drive shaft, spec clutch and alum flywheel, and 4.10:1 gears. The 94 stang with me (188 lbs) weight was 3520. On oem tires I ran between 12.70 to 12.50 with speeds of 112 to 114. I hope this will help.
Cars:
1994 Mustang GT : 306 ,H/C/I, Mac Headers(shorty),H-pipe,cat back,4.10:1 gears. 1/4 best= 12.50 @ 114 (sold to brother)
