To be serious with things though for a minute it took my friend over 650 whp to go 10s in his Civic and its alot lighter than your S2000. He had the disadvantage of fwd but made alot more power than you. I think its going to be tough to run a 10 in your car at your current hp level, unless you have a strong *** drivetrain and can pull some 1.5 60s out of it, which I dont think you will be able to do because of the big turbo and the lag you will have. Definately get back on here when you do run it though as Im curious myself as to how fast it will go.

 

Iwill be running more boost. Im looking for 625-650rwhp. Im also running the AEMEMS. I can sit the light and boost 15lbs, no turbo lag at all. AutoFab in B-More Md is putting a Nissan Skyline rear diff and Moser axels. I really want to put a auto in the car, autos and turbo are the ****!

 

If you can pull that much out of the motor then you should be able to go 10s I think. 15 psi should be enough to shoot you out of the hole at a pretty good pace. I know what you mean by autos and turbos. When I get the money Im switching to an auto and turboing my car. Im hoping to have about 800-900 rwhp on a T-88. Should have no problems going 9s with that set up and the auto.

A buddy of mine has a friend with S/Ced s2k, I think his name is Nick as well. Could be the same person. I think he ran high 12s with his S/Ced setup and bad traction.

 

That would be the same Nick. He lives in Towson. He goes out every weekend. I think nick ran a 12.7

 

I don't remember if his name is 100% Nick, but pretty sure that's him. He ran low 14s stock, right? Gotta ask my buddy if it's the same guy we are talking about.

I think you need to have a little respect as well as a dose of reality if you think stock S2000's are faster than Stock LS1 Camaro's & TA's. Stock S2k's are closer to LT1's but generally speaking I think even your average LT1 is quicker. Your car, with a ton of money into is a force to be reckoned with, same as virtually any car with a ton of money into it. However, its no competition against our cars stock for stock or mod for mod

suprised nobodys said this yet, lt1's run about 14.0 ls'1s run mid 13's easily, and s2000's ran 14.2 in alot of mag's.

I've seen newer s2ks run 13.9 at the track with a good driver.

 

Point is, My car is not slow. Its damn fast for what it is. When it comes down to it more cyl will always win. Im happy with staying yp or pulling on cars like the C6 I ran. When it comes down to street driven imports my car is real fast. Whaen it comes down to the s2k my car is one of the top in the USA

all of the post really make my day everybody bickering back and forth its funny-lol.but seriously modding cars and making them faster is what this forum and all other car forums are about.it doesnt matter what car it is or what motor it is.and its funny how a lot of people that give a hard time to others about their car or setup their car is the one that is slow.peolpe are giving this guy with the s2k that runs or will run 10s one of the fastest in the us a hard time when their car runs 13s or 12s.we should give this guy props for doing what he is doing.remember when people said that boosting a ls1 with 10.1 comp would be a nono.we all know what happend with that.
its about doing things different that makes and keeps all of this moving forward.

street cars have come a long way when I was 17yrs old I had a 71 nova with a 406 sb in it ran 12.50s and I never lost a street race.one of the hevier hitters that would race for money had a chevelle with a bb and ran 11.70s and that was the fastest thing on the street.

 

lower boost is deceiving because its still filling the cylinders with dense air, that is in ways similar to a smaller turbo at a higher boost level. the stress on the motor from 300 wheel doesnt change because your only running 10 psi vrs. 30. the real compremise will be made with driveabilty as the smaller turbo'd cars running more boost will smoke you with similar power.
