01 SS vs 97 Cobra
I almost postive it was a 97 cobra it was that mystic color. Was driving along minding my business on a main road.WHen I hit a light with this cobra I talked to him said it had a procharger on it could definetly hear the blower. He said 450 to the RW>so light turns green we both ease out he is slighty ahead as I ltry to line up with him in first gear.He took off as I got to his bumper so I let out.Hate that why they do that anyway finally get a clean run with him and I pulled hiim about two cars from first gear till I shifetd in third started in first. He only had 3.23 in the rear.Gave him thumbs up and went on my way.My mods are H/C and bolt-ons 01 SS

while not the "SAME"......its not THAT big of a difference (ie: not like the Camaro makes 325 and the Cobra makes 250).....nothing that would make a H/C Camaro just run circles around a blown Cobra........

We are talking real power here, not ratings.
Don't tell me you think an 01 SS only makes 325 horsepower.
For all practical purposes they aren't that far apart, I suppose. *However, the LS1 has a lot more potential and responds better to mods so it only seems to get worse for the Cobra.

All of you are wrong.
1. a 97 cobra never came in mystic.
2. They never had a 3.23 gear for the ford 8.8 in the cobra.
3. The procharger on that cobra needs atleast a 3.73 gear at minimum. 450 rwhp is average for our cars but can easily handle 500.
4. no cobra ever made 295hp nor 290 tq. Also a 96-98 cobra has never dynoed 240rwhp..
5. The 96-98 cobras never came close to a LS1 hp stock. 96-98 cobras are around 260-275(seen a stock 98 freak dyno this) and a LS1 for 2001 will dyno atleast 310-320 rwhp

From what you wrote, you mean that 275 rwhp is a normal range, or is that the "freak dyno." What years came in Mystic? I've only seen once in my life...badass color. I don't understand why they haven't tried those colors again.
Nice numbers

The 96 cobras came in mystic. They also made the mystic chrome for the 04 cobras too.
That 275 rwhp was done by a chrome yellow 98 cobra that was bone stock that my buddy dynoed on his dyno. Normally they are around 260-265 tops stock.
An estimate by someone who used to own them and implies he knows about them The right info was posted the first time. Sorry no value on that one

96 was one of 2 years they made the mystic color, 96 and 04. A charged 96 cobra should be puttin down some nice numbers but not enough to hang with a h/c LS1. I raced a 97 w/ 3.73, k&n, chip, pulley and orx and flows when I had my stock 01 Z28 and put about 3-4 cars on him

Cobras came stock w/ a 3.27 gear but anyone with half a brain who has a centrifugal blower put on jumps to 3.73's or 4.10's not back it down to a gear that isnt made for the car.
If he port his heads and got a nice set of blower cams and a tune he could be at 500+
