Turning from Schoenner on to 16 mile (4 lane road and 50 mpg speed) the other day a yellow Porsche is right behind me.
I was hoping to play and so I slowed and went over 2 lanes to let the Porsche come up beside me. I was doing about 25 mph to get his attention and it worked.
He hit the gas when he was 1.5 to 2 cars back.
I jumped on it right away. But he had launched first and was only a car or less behind. The Porsche looked so sweet and my memories as a kid of these cars being super fast had me believeing I should try to keep my lead of 1 car or so as long as possible.
When I first jumped my car was in a good spot for 1st and when it shifted to 2nd it pulled hard and squacked the tires. I glanced to the side and did not see the Porsche and to my surprise he was still behind me.
Surprisingly the Porsche never caught up. At 65 to 70 mph I had what I figured was 3 cars (maybe 2 when he actually quit). He slowed to the speed limit and then stayed back. At the light I was hoping to talk to him but this guy and his buddy just ignored me and stopped a car in front of me.
I have to say that I love how the car looks and was surprised at the outcome. I do not know what year and can only guess as to the shape the car was in. It looked just like a pic I found online:
Anyhow, I do not get to see many of these cars let alone race one so I was happy for holding my ground and then some. It would have been cool if the guy would have stopped next to me to talk but "whatever".
And, I had my wife in the car as well so we both had a passenger.

Only low 13's, but still, the car is rare as all Hell. It's basically a regular Carrera that was stripped for great weight reduction, a few more ponies, and a few body add ons. Basically a club-racer Carrera.

Sounds true to me...i know a lot about Porsches and from these pictures i can only guess that his was a late 90s car. Which means he was only pushing 220-240 rwhp. no surprise the WS6 won. if you had to go through any turns and the other driver knew what he was doing you would not have had a chance...
