Got killed by an LS1
Was minding my own business, getting ready to turn onto a 4 lane hwy, and a red LS1 comes flying by and gives me a rev, and gets in the turning lane also. I know what he's thinking, because I'm thinking the same thing too...So we get on the hwy, it was empty, no traffic, he was going slow so I caught up to him. I pull up beside him, I was in 3rd at about 60 which is a sweet spot with the 4.56s. We both hit it at the same time and I started to pull on him, and then I shifted to 4th and he pulled away by about 2 car lengths and we shut it down. 1st death.
Went around some curves, he slowed and I caught up to him again. Hit it again in 3rd and I hit the rev limiter, he flat out pulled away, and by the time I reached 4th he was buslengths ahead of me. His car sounded so sick. Cammed, blown, may have even had nitrous the way he pulled buslengths on me the 2nd time, or maybe my car is just really slow. It was sweet. 2nd death.
After this I gave up and caught up to him and gave him a friendly wave and he waved and honked back, he took an exit and goosed the throttle to kind of rub it in. I knew what I was getting into when I heard his car the first time, I was like man I'm about to get my @ss whooped. But I haven't raced a worthy opponent in so long I had to see what the Cobra could do. Obviously, not too good. Ordering an s-trim this week.

But... cammed and blown LS1 should be an 11 second car, with nitrous it would be a low 11 high 10 second car if the engine can hold up the power... you on the other hand get 8.8@83 in 1/8th... that's what most of the stock or very lightly modded(catback lid) LS1s get at the track, so I say he probably had full exhaust and a lid for sure, but I doubt about the cam and anything else.

With my mods on a stock tune and 4.30's I held my own against a few minor bolt on LS1's.I don't recommend a blower with those 4.56's. Too much gear for the blower, but 4.10's will be perfect for that setup.

Then again, twin's are nice...in more than one regard.
4.56's are a **** ton of gear though, no question about that. Personally, I'm fond of 3.90's.
