200mph
Callaway only built 2 of them I believe, and they were 88 models. They have a top speed "body kit" that looks unlike any other vette you'll see.
google for pics if you like.
So can't really say it was the fastest production car ever made if that's true I'd assume.
If that's the case, I wonder who holds the title?
Young dumb..full of well you know. But I was out to prove that my friend's evos and sti couldn't hang in the mojave.
Looking back on it, it was a stupid thing to do. Fun, but stupid. If your car isn't ready for it, don't do it. You could splatter yourself and your fbody all over the place. The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

Bugatti 16-4: 252.3
McLaren F1: 240.1

I've lived in Eastern Europe. On the German highway system the normal, or low, rate of speed is ~120 mph.
I've traveled at, relatively speaking, tremendous velocities DOZENS OF TIMES; any veterans on here or LS1.com would know me
The German highways are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR safer to travel on than ANY highway in the continental U.S.
Now . . . you'll say "Germany is a much smaller country with far fewer population driving . . . " mile per mile of traveled highway per vehicle, their highways are safer with less fatalities AND accidents than ours.
They know how to drive. Just ask me how LONG their driving test is for a license . . . oh . . . and how many THOUSAND dollars it costs to get one. When it takes a couple weeks to get a license and well more than a grand in cash to do it, then you make sure you PASS

People that have had extensive training at driving and racing schools can control their cars better than the numnuts we see everyday on the road.
If you know how to drive properly . . . abide by right of way, recognized fast-lane, no tail-gating, two-hands, no CELL PHONE WITHOUT EAR-PIECE, no t.v. wathcing
, etc. . . then, barring mechanical neglect, high-speed driving can be safe.Christopher
