If you can cut consistang 1.8X 60's I will have to change my vote for the GT. Really this race is a drivers race if i ever heard of one.

Okay, no offense, but unless the LS1 COMPLETELY blows his launch, its over for the GT.

what is he running at 1500 pounds that is just crazy 250 hp isnt gonna get you deep in the 11s he has to have more than that done besides weight reduction and suspension mods. that car stock probally ran mid 14s. 3 secs off weight reduction and suspension is hard to believe.

by weight reduction he means he installed it in a tube chassy car with NOTHING but the driver seat/carbon fiber body/engine/tranny/suspension

Agreed, LS1 will win, 4.6 Stang owners have to do an awful lot to their cars just to be even with an LS1 car.

Noride, if bottlefed gets the launch pull a highway patrol manuever and kick his *** end into the wall.

no im kidding, like bottlefedGT said before, his car wont go into the 11's on muscle. He said it should go into (high) 11's with the 100shot but I cant say if I could agree with that or not.

Ok, LS1 owners can remain stock while a 4.6 stang owner has to do alot of mods to stay even with an LS1

LOL! That's what I was getting at, but it seemed to go right over his head! Do some people forget that GT's, Mach 1's, and Cobras all have 4.6L, and some need a lot less mods than others to "stay even" with an LS1??

I know this but they still do need mods Not bashing the 4.6 infact I like them alot but I was just stating a general fact, was not being specific to any 4.6

I know there wasn't any bashing going on, I just think the only 4.6L motor that is going to "need" mods to "stay with" an LS1 would be in the GT. I know I never had any trouble staying with, or even pulling on quite a few fbodies and C5 Corvettes when I was totally bone stock. I also would have serious doubts that an 03/04 Cobra would have any problems keeping up or just plain walking away from an LS1 stock for stock. And if you're trying to say the supercharger is a "mod", I don't buy that argument either, since it's installed at the factory. So I don't think you can say as a general fact that all 4.6 motors have to have mods to stay with a stock LS1. Just my $.02, didn't mean to start a long jag on the issue.

I wouldn't call a s/c a mod. However the Cobra is in a different price range when compared to your average fbody. LS1 fbody--22k base price, 03 Cobra--~33k base price. GT vs. fbody is a fair comparison considering the SS and WS6 are visual packages.

Agreed. But the discussion wasn't centered on the Mustang model type, it was a "general statement of fact" concerning the 4.6L motor, which can be found throughout the entire model line, including the Cobra and Mach 1.

I vote for the SS as long as he can drive, not a big fan of the GT's.
