Well atleast i know i'm not the only one that doesn't get any races. The only races i get are the ones that are setup between me an my friends and most if not all the time we know what the outcome is going to be before we even line up kinda takes the fun outta it ya know. Happening upon a race while just driving around is a once in a life time thing around here lol. So if i happen upon an LSx car i will indeed try to get him to race.

Although i do have a couple races with the stang come spring time with a SRT-4 running very low 12's a del sol in the mid 12's and a few others i wouldn't mind putting a whooping on .

The problem with most mustang owners that YOU seem to be meeting is that they are idiots. Much like some F-body owners and some import owners. Every group has their idots. I met a guy with an LS1 that didnt know what gears he had, how much HP he had, ANYTHING. He even told me my 5.0 had about 290hp stock ( I SMILED REAL BIG). Actually, the LSx cars are nice, but far from unbeatable. A lot of 'stang guys (as well as others) measure their power buy their ability to take the LSx cars though. THe LSX's have yet to be beaten by anything ford came out with other than the 03/04 cobra's. At any rate, rest assured, there is someone out there with a 'stang who will stomp your *** if you play with enough of them (as there is with pretty much any type of car, most are normal, but a select few are wicked).

Those are facts? Sure sounds like your opinion to me.
Care to compare sticker price of my Mustang vs. your f-body?
I'm 29yo BTW.

I never seem to get random races anymore either. Most that do want to race aren't worth the time. I will say that there are alot of GT owners that are young and maybe moved up from a slower car , and now think that their catback GT is a real threat.

I guess mine is on the slower side too, but hell, I will race anyone 1 time if they are game. If they dont bite, after about 10 seconds of prodding, I move on. (I am one of the few ppl who doesnt like free-revving, I just pull even and look over, if they want some, they know what to do.) After I DECISIVELY lose a race once, thats it, i give props and all, my car isnt going to "sprout" an extra 50hp the next run...same with winning, I run only 2 times at most if i win both soundly...their car wont materialize any more juice either, and if they had spray the 2nd run woulda shown that.

Wow you guys are old. I'm 17 with my first F-body, haven't had a chance to even drive it to school yet it's been sitting it my drive way with no inusrance and no plate for a day.

Anyway, I would love to get as much racing action as the thread starter. Revving doesn't seem like something I'd do. I'd probably double honk like the roadrunner before I revved at someone. I guess I'm **** about the way I waste gas. But if it's being used to race someone then it's well worht the adrenaline.

I'll agree with that, for awhile i used to go hunt down LSx cars just to see how this mod or that mod did on my stang.

You could say its an educated opinion based on observation. (check out the scientific method guidelines!)

Comparing the price of a new Mustang with a 1999 f-body is not the smartest comparison for your statement. If you were able to take my f-body, wich is a loaded 1999 Trans Am, to the future (our present) and make it a 2005 model I would bet my house it would cost a lot more than your Ford.

Congrats on been 29 and owning a new Mustang BTW Im getting a new Mustang for my wife...

THere is a well known mustang/ford shop in my town that has been known to put out some unreal performance. But every kid around here that has a 99-04 gt thansk if they take it to them for exhaust/intake and decals that it it a world beater. Unit i think he is referring to a GT not a Cobra or mach. Most mustangs around here are a joke. No good 5.0s and harldy any Terminators, although there is a young hot blonde who drives a modded vert. I never looked into this but how would a stock 03 cobra hardtop compare to a stock 02 SS in the 1/4 ?

I'm only 20, and I own a mustang, so I guess that makes your theory right LMAO.

BTW, you might want to read what this thread is all about.....you seem to be one of the people that were originally being talked about, and you own an..........FBODY

It's already been said, but there are people in every crowd. I don't know anyone right now with a mustang that's cocky, but I do have a friend with a WS6 that thinks he's hot ****, even though the car isn't even done Everyone else I know doesn't really care if they have the fastest, or slowest car.

Assuming equally competant drivers then the Cobra is the fastest.

If both drivers are equally poor then the SS will be the easier to drive.

If the Cobra can put the power down they are capable of mid/mid high 12's @ 116mph or there abouts.

Where as a SS is more of a high 12, 13 flat @ 107-109 kind of car.

Having said that, the Cobra's may look fab but they are quite portly and the IRS is apparantly not so easy when leacing the line in a hurry.

Thanks. Congrats on being a ********.

The Cobra is one of 3 cars in my garage.

1. '03 Cobra
2. '06 Dodge Dakota
3. '03 Explorer

Granted, they aren't exotics...but they work for me.

Please post pics of your 6 year old LS1. I'm sure it's a beast.

...and i highly doubt your f-body would cost $40K in '05.

Cocky stang owners? Hmmm...seems like we have some cocky fbody
owners as well.

Your theory? I thought they were facts?

I find it funny that you attempt to degrade me for owning a 700+rwhp
Cobra at 29yo while you're 33yo and you own a 6 year old fbody.

Yeah...take the high road huh? Right...after talking down to me as if you're
superior or something.

"My level" is an upper middle class white collar professional. I'm comfortable
with that considering I'm only 29yo. What is your level Mr. "I'm holier than
thow"?

BTW...I sold my '00 LS1 three years ago. Sorry to see that you're still stuck
with an old car.

Well, in this kind of forums a lot of people have the oportunity to kind of play a little with your own character or personality...my sig and avatar are just there for fun. I dont need a psychologist or anything but if you take seriously my sig maybe you should seek some help!!
