I deffinately understand, because I just started driving my 98 WS.6 Formula to school, and yea all the ricers and guys that think their badass are coming out of the woodwork.. in the past 3 days I've gotten 5 count 'em 5 requests to race. I just smile at them and say, not at this altitude I haven't gotten it tuned. I moved up to CO about 3 months ago and I still haven't done that HA... but everytme I'm out on the street some ricer or GT owner pulls up and revs at me.. I've gotten alot of respect and alot of people to shut up but just spinnin the tires. First day I brought it to school, I had three people say "Oh it's just a V6 with a hood and exhaust..." I took them out to the parking lot and said.. "Ok you caught me it only has 6 cylinders... one sec lets count those (pop the hood) (pointing at intake manifold) 1...2...3...4...5...6!! whats this I have two extra cyinders... next time don't shoot your mouth off if you don't know what your talking about...now get back in your hole" So yea pretty much shut those guys up... as for the original poster, I know how you feel, I have a guy in a De Sol that is always revvin at me, granted he is my friend, but he is always wanting to race, so I know how ya feel...

some of u guys are talking about age....well i got my f-body when i was 19 and im about to turn 21...so yea im young...the last race i was in is posted in this section...."two hotties in a skittle"....but before that i hadnt raced since the summer!!!

 

Haha hey I hear ya, didnt know if that was serious or anything, just saw it a few times and had to ask.

 

Its kinda funny. I could get into a race with my SS just going to 7-11. Now that I have the Cobra, I cant get one driving around looking for one. That really sucks since this car sucks down gas! I have to keep racing my old car. Must be a Mustang thing.

 

Same here. No one wants to race me for some reason. I get cammed
LS1's on slicks/skinnies throwing a thumbs up and just drive away casually.

Cocky Stangs? Eh seems there are alot of cocky Fbody drivers in here. It's ok though.....



I get revved on all the time by all kinds of cars....... when they are going in the opposite direction with no chance of me pulling a u-turn.

 

I am pretty cocky. I know stock for stock there are not many cars on the road that can hang with my T/A. I am also knowledeable about other cars. I know with the way my car is now that a bolton 03-04 snake will most likely hand me my ***, and i will hand a bolt on gt its *** all day too. I dont talk sjit about my car bein the fastest or highest priced, but i am cocky. I also consider myself lucky to be in a situation to be 20 years old and be driving one of the greatest muscle cars of my generation.

 

Those are all fair statements. Nothing wrong with that.

 

Too many have no doubt heard about some black 03 Cobra with a "Unit213" plate on it that runs somewhere in the 10's. Might be time to paint it a different color and quiet the the exhaust down.

Everyone always tries racing me???? (mustangs, fbods, ricers, PICKUPS, minivans, lol, I think I have been "challenged" on the street by just about every vehicle there is!) Even a big dump trunk took off next to me as the driver was cracking up, shifting through 30 gears.

 

It may be irrelevant to the thread but I'm down in Virginia. Talking on the phone to my mother up home in Pennsylvania she tells me about some guy at her work that knows I have a camaro and called me out from up there!! She asked him what he drove and the only car she could remember was "Civic" I can't get a damn race going around here (with one exception I could race a couple guys but we all know the outcomes of races we'd have.), and some guy's calling me out from 500 miles away. Hmm, still tryin' to find time to race the TT cobra around here.

 

I wish I had that problem. I can't get in races in either of my cars. I can usually con a few f-bods in to racing my Mustang, but here lately, it has sucked around here for conning..lol.

 

Who cares if we drive a Mustang, a Camaro, a Firebird, a GTO or a Corvette. We buy what we want. Age and price doesn't matter as long as we get what we want. We are all muscle car owners and we should be proud of that. We each own a fine muscle car from our generation no matter how old it is, how old we are and what it cost when it was new.
