Could you have maybe hit the rev limiter before you downshifted?

If the 5.0 had 4.10s (and/or maybe just a quicker reaction), then you better believe he would get a jump on you.

In my trans Am, nothing happened to my pedal, the front of the car just dropped, the rpms bogged, and i thought I had broken something VERY EXPENSIVE the first time I did it, but I had an LT1, maybe the LS1's are different? The point is, YOU WOULD HAVE SQUEEKED A TIRE! because it SENSES wheel spin, not PREDICTS it. "If you could have anyways" means that I doubt you can spin your tires with tcs on, or off in 3rd geat at 65 with decent tires and no ice. Point being, even if, by some wierd nature, you could have, the 715# would have prevented it, your TCS never even knew it was on...In my 5.0, on the rare occasions that I go on dates, no matter how thin the chick, i can still tell when they are in the car by how it responds. weight plays a HUGE roll. My car feels better when low on gas even, lol

In my 240SX, A/C off was a HUGE difference, but in my Formula, I really don't notice that much difference (but a slight difference nonetheless). But then again, the 240SX was light and I could notice a difference even if I was gaining weight lol . Nice kill.

I down shifted into 3rd and gave him a nod, I honked 3 times, on the 3rd honk I get a horrible launch (forgot to turn off the friken traction control...) and 5.0 jumps ahead of me.. I turn off the traction control, AC and keep goin, slam 4th and I begin to gain on him, top of 4th into 5th I got em by 3/4-1 1/3 of a car length ahead of him and shut down at 120.. Pretty hot ****, was my first street racing experience and I must say it was awesome, friends in car were hootin and screamin out the window Im not a big fan of street racing but it dosent hurt in small doses...

Does your mom know your staying out late racing the car she financed for you?

And yes with TCS On the petal pushes back hard pushes your foot back on my car it does and If i keep beating it with TCS on It will go into "abuse mod" think that is what it is called and only give me 80-90% thottle. not sure on the AC being on effecting anything AT WOT. Why are you guys giving him ****, what Ls1 couldn't kick the crap out of a 5.0 slow?? Unless its heavy modded or he was running on 4 instead of 8. And yeah I doubt your tires would of chirped but maybe if you dumped it at like 5k or something maybe...just maybe anyways GOOD KILL

Traction control cuts timing first, then pulls back the throttle,
then adds brakes if that doesn't do it.

A/C cuts out above 4294 RPM in my stock tune, if you are
below this for part of the pull it will tax you. I set mine lower,
a bit, so it's below WOT minimum RPM with my converter.
It also disables at 100% TPS and will not re-enable until you
drop to idle (0%); I changed this to be more sensible as well.
The other day I was doing some minor adjusting to this dude's
car and found that his never-messed-with TB was only giving
him 85% TPS. That won't even get you to the WOT shifting
strategy, and probably short-shift big time; what do you know
about yours?

You shifted into 5th and shut down at 120? My stock gears definetly go past 130 in 4th. Does weight make that happen?

*not trying to be a dick, just wondering.

-NICE KILL-
