Default 383LT1 vs 03' Blown Cobra

Ok I am in the begining phases of my project S10 however, I have been called out already by a dick who drives a 2003 blown cobra with bolts ons, heads ,cam, cat back, gears etc. I don't know what he runs but I've heard he can't drive for ****.

Here is my setup or what it will be,

96' Chevy S10 shortbed/std cab Full drop suspension, C-Notched frame (will be replacing the stock diff with a Moser 9" w/ 3.55:1 gears though), Not sure how the lowered ride height will hurt me. 94' LT1 stroked to 383, Eagle 4340 Crank, Eagle H Beams, Speed Pro Hypers (11.5:1), Ported stock heads, Comp 292XFI HR 13 @.050 242 int./248 exh 0.584 int./0.579 exh. lift, roller tips rockers, BBK 58mm tb, 42lb SVO Injectors, MSD, Delteq Kit, TCI Super Streetfighter 3,800 stall, TH350, Drag Slicks, long tubes with 40 series flowmasters exiting before the rear wheels

Do you think i can take him? I think i should be able to *** rape him if I can hook.

What times do you think i should run? Thanks!

This is the street racing section. Maybe you should've posted in the
drag racing section.

I'll guess a 14.0 @ 95mph.

That's right, there's some guys out there who can work wonders on lt1 heads.

Sounds like I might have to bloat the visa some more and go with a 100shot but I would love to beat him on motor only.

I know you can get good #'s out of stock castings, but they don't have stock valves. more like 2.05/1.60... Lloyd Elliot is one of the guys doing it. It sounded like he just had stock heads that were ported. Mabey not killing him but he could make alot more with some better heads...

What do 2003 Cobras usually run stock? When I get my 3200 stall and my 3.73 with a nice tune I hope to be at about a 12.5-7. Is that right about what the Cobras run, or do they run more close to 12.8-9?

What is it rated at stock? I just want to know some ballpark figures of a good/bad driver with a Cobra, completely stock.

Completely stock they are usually 12.6-12.8 second cars with a good driver and some decent tires but they will trap higher MPH than you so if you race one from a roll they will have you. If your at the track its hard to get a cobra to hook unless they are fairly experienced at launching their car and have a good tire so you could def out ET them, if they are bone stock. I have seen some cobras run low 13's but their MPH show that they have much better times in them.

im not so sure about this cobra. head and cams? Most people would get a KB or whipple before they even touch that stuff.
