So basically your friends LIGHTER CAR with BETTER TIRES and MORE HP trapped the same as the "dyno queen". Not impressed with your logic there. ET is a driver thing, mph is a machine thing. Seems to me like the cobra showed your friend up as far as power under the curve...

well another guy that i talked 2 at a different track day had a 03 vert cobra with a bunch of **** including a kb with 611 rwhp on slicks ran a best of 11.5 i dont remember his mph but that is not impresive at all. im not trying 2 talk trash on cobras i actually like them im just telling my expiriences with cobras et's n dyno #s.

You have not met Allen (Broke user ID on local forum) down here in Fl. He has an 03 and with a ported blower+ bolt ons he is putting 500-600 (544 last time I talked to him) to the wheels and runs 6's in the 1/8th and 10's in the 1/4. Driver mod has alot to do with it. He drives the crap out of that car.

His most recent post on the forum:

"Drove the car up last week/weekend to WFC-8 in St Louis for a ford event met alot of good people, car was having some issues but finally got a 1/4 pass.

managed a 10.61@132 with a 1.58 60ft having some minor issues. The car only went 6.82@99 in the 1/8th usually goes 103mph here in FL on the spray, the weather was very warm and humid with some elevation thrown in. Everyone seemed to be down some ET and MPH.

Overall im happy, drove the car 1500 miles round trip, ran mid 10's @ 130, averaged 22mpg on the highway with the AC on.

Sounds pretty nutty to me! I'd definitally love have a car capable of good ET's with a lower mph (in relation to other cars running the same ET) like that Cobra. That's why I'm doing suspension and such next.

I'm definitally off the the FI forums to ask about a blower and my cam, thanks!

Hey buddy, we all love LS1's, but you must have run into 2 of the worst drivers and YOU failed to mention the trap speed of the KB car. 11.5 at .....130...131.....135?? Go race that guy and see if it impresses you. You also say this " friend " with a pulley and a tune is making 408 to the wheels? Wow, tell him to let the emergency brake down when he dynos. Im gonna just stop here, we do not need another Ford vs Chevy thread. Most of us know what is real and what is made up. Wow.

jayplaySS2 ur rite we dont need another ford vs chevy thread all im gonna say is that 03 04 cobras impress me on the dyno n disapoint me at the track. my friend with the 04 cobra is a great driver he was getting 1.8 60ft times when he was running 12.3s. my car went 11.8 @ 118 with dr's a lid, k&n, n 150 shot with a 1.8 60ft n now that i got a stage 3 cluch n can launch at 4500 rpm i will go race that cobra n i bet ill beat it.

98SSls1, we all know that there are good and bad drivers. A couple cobras with high mph in relation to their ET's doesn't mean that they are all like that. Yes, they are harder to launch, but not impossible.

Wonder if he had a solid rear? Gear ratio?

If it still had IRS and 1.8 60 ft times it would run 11.30 - 11.50's @ 128mph or so.

Solid rear with 4.10's, closer to high 10's.

Honestly, 9's are very possible w/o spray. But what do I know, I'm just a dyno queen.

He didn't have a solid axle yet, but he is getting ready to put one in. Then I'll be totally screwed, lol.
