Just read the next 3 series 330 will be a twin turbo six puttin down about 300hp, but it'll be in the 40k territory.

If that's the 330, the next M3 should be sweeeeeeeeeeeeet

It comes down to the driver. Most of the time.

I raced one last weekend and he got a jump and tried to fly by me. I have a 2.73 gear and from 60, it's hard for someone to pull away. So I passed him; and he didn't try to catch up.

Im buying an MT today at some point, thats sick. BMW has been sitting here making 8K redline/high compression/individual throotle bodies for each cylinder/variable cam/NAs for years to compete against Audi adn now they see the light

Personally its has to have FI or cubes. Preferably both. Good for Bimmer.

Just wanted to say a few things.

I have raced many trans ams and camaros..have beaten some...others have been closer than I expected and some just handed me my *** like no other. I raced my buddies c5 vette from the dig..had him by a full car lenths all the way till 100mph until he started reeling me in and was at my door when we shut it down at 135. But a lot of us m3 owners did not buy the car for drag racing purposes....and we all know that as well. Its a very fun car to drive..the gearing is amazing...the speed is there and it handles like a dream...that is why we spend the 60k. If I get beat by a v8 I dont go home saying **** I just got beat by a 30k car( or whatever they are going for these days)....most of us didn't buy the car for that reason. Some of you gusy would be suprised at the track numbers for the M as well..there is a guy that went 12.9 bone stock..a buddy of mine went 13flat numerous times on a bone stock m3 and I know people who went 13.9..soo it all comes down to the driver just like any other car.

And yes to the previous person asking about the turbo one..they are making a turbo 3 series.

bmw says its normal to consume one quart every 3000...thats what the dealer told my best friend he has a 330...and i can vouch for them being quick spunky cars that love to rev....from a roll he can pull about a half a car on me until third..but from a dig he cant catch me...or on the high side im still able to pull him..but they handle so much better at 140 than our cars

Haha, bro believe me I was as surprised as you were. I think i read the two paragraph article three times before it sank in. Honestly I think it might be a mistake for the Bimmer boys. Given a choice between a TT 330 for 40,xxx or an NA M3 for 50,xxx, I'm going for the 330.

Now if the M3 goes turbo .....

Ok yesterday I was driving around when I saw a silver M3....GUESS WHAT!? It was the same guy I raced last time. This time we raced about 4 times and everytime I put 1 car on him and let off. It was pretty fast. He hung dead even with me through the whole 3rd and when I went into 4th I started to pull. I know how to jam the gears too so its not like I don't know how to drive. Man, I want a M3 or a 03/04 cobra. I'm debating on what I want....help me on this choice guys..

Pretty sweet I use to own an M3, and believe it or not I owned a cobra. My M3 ran low 13.1@108 bone stock. The car was a beast. I still to this date miss that car. As far as the m3 and cobra go, they shouldn't be in the same sentence. If you want bling, decent amount of speed, great handling, and can afford to buy and own a BMW, go M3. If you want power, Cobra all the way.

But out of the 30 something cars I have owned the M3 was definitely the best car I have owned. Sucks to be a has-been. And school sux the rest away.

M3's are very expensive to mod, hence why mine stayed stock.

My old M3

I've raced a bunch and have never lost to one. I ran one at the track, missed third and still got him by a tenth. That's when I was running mid 13's. I have raced several others from rolls, stops and freeway. I never have a problem walking away.
