99-104 is what I have seen out of the 04's. My friend's 05 trapped 103 as did the other LS2 GTO at the track that night.

actually I'm only around 155, so I don't much mind the weight...yea it is heavy, but I just get tired of hearing "GTO? o yea those things are big heavy slow pigs!" all the time...

People who don't know much about them assume they're only marginally faster than SUVs because they weigh 3 tons and other asenine **** like that.

The car flat out goes...If you don't keep tabs on the speedo when you're getting on a highway with any sort of vigor, you're up near triple digits surprisingly quickly and without even trying. that simply does not happen with slow cars....On top of that, slightly numb steering aside, they grip fairly well in the corners and while there is SOME body roll, they feel much tighter than you would think by looking at the car's curb weight.

That seems a little heavy from the numbers I've seen. Do you have most of the options?
yea my Z was more or less loaded except for ground effects and the SS package (though it had the ZR1s and 275s anyway). It had leather, power seat, all options, ASR, etc but honestly, MOST of the f-bodies you come across (especially SS and WS6 cars) ARE LOADED and weigh just as much as my Z if not a hair more.

Something else I found while reading more about this, your Camaro was an auto, and the 4l60e weighs "approximately 185", while the T-56 weighs 125, so you are penalizing the Z/28 by 60 basically free pounds, other than the couple of wires and hoses that vary from an auto to a manual.
I highly doubt it...My friend had a problem with blowing trannies for inexplicable reasons in his '01 Z awhile back (he went through literally a dozen of them).

I picked up more 4L60Es than I can even count between moving them around his garage, taking them to the builder, etc....They CAN'T be anymore than 150ish even with some fluid left in them.

I used the 3690# number because I don't think most people will have done that, even if they should, and because I also credited the drivers of these cars with weighing 140, which is pretty rediculous, I think we both know that most of these drivers are males in average or worse shape, probably at least 90% are over 21, so they don't weigh 140.
Like I said, I'm 20 and 155 pounds or so, so I can't really comment much on that, but if you want to go apples to apples, I don't really think you can say that GTO owners tend to be heavier than F-body owners or anything.

I cant help it ^

Seriously though, the 05's and 06's are a lot stronger than the 04's which around here are lucky to make it into the 13's (noone stock in an 04 6-speed has hit 13's that I have talked to, granted, that is only 2 ppl though.)

I still want an 04, there are two or three out there running 11's already. On the IRS as well.
There are more then 2 or 3 in the 11s. We had 6 this past Friday at one event, mine being one of them!
