i was happy overall with the time i had the vr4. the clutch needed to be replaced because of the numerous launches, not really the cars fault. are you a member on 3si.

 

No im not a member there. Been on there a few times but never joined.

 

I got a ride once in a VR4 TT from a dig to about 70mph and Holy Crap...it pulled so ******* hard. This one had upgraded WRX turbos at 15-16psi. It literally had me pinned to the seat. Oh...and that long gearing in those cars is great.

I love the 1G VR4's best. Too bad they have a glass drivetrain (aluminum t-case?) for a heavy car.

 

You're right about the gearing. When they hit 3rd at 80,holy **** are they rolling! Ive done 170mph in mine. They pull HARD on top end. Been meaning to run it with my ws6 from like 80 just to see. Last time i ran them from 40 and then 70 and the ws6 would pull a car on the take off(4.10s) and then just slowly walk. Probably close up top.

 

I miss my vr4 too, but not much......my new car is just as fast stock and has a 4 year warranty, but you're right everybody thinks they're too heavy...can't turn.... blah blah blah.....and then you walk em and the attitude changes.....

 

The vr4 is a bad *** car i got to ride in a spider a while ago when they spool they spool im no means a hater but i had a guy in txs race me blk vr4 full boltons built motor we raced befor when i had a ASA cam long tubes and custom tune (412)hp to the wheels and other boltons he had a stage three turbo running on 21psi from the dig he would put 1half car on me but i will slowly reel him in by the top of 4th and 5th i just can barley beat him. But once he got the motor built and and other things he ran a 11.00 at 130 at the track Then my turbo came in and i got tuned and long story short we raced from 60mph up to 180+ i had him by a car lenth could not pull away my car ran out of gear 3.73 in 6th about 6,400 rpms he said he was slowly catching up I dont doubt it but it was fun

 

Top end cars for sure. But i might be selling mine.
