Yeah, a stock LT1 would get beaten very badly to an 03-04 Cobra. I'm pretty sure the 03-04 cobras trap about 110+ stock to the LT1's 98-100MPH.

Full bolt ons and a stall and you will win in the quarter. With those mods you could run a 12.7 or so. You will have a slower trap speed, but I think you'll get there quicker. (as long as the 60' is good) The 03-04 Cobras are pretty heavy.

If your talking about a 99-04 GT, it should be a good race. Either way the LT1 should pull slightly. 99-04 A4 GT's are pretty slow. A 5-speed would be a better run with an LT1. (A4 or manual)

O3-O4 COBRA'S run mid 12's.110-115 MPH....no pulley, no exhaust....200 ft. above sea level...we have a club that comes to our track all summer...NOTHING slower than 12's. PERIOD.

yah i raced him tonight and it was good. We raced from a dead stop and I got him right away like 2-3 car lengths ahead of him off the line all the way up to like 160kph-170kph or 99-105 mph then he stared to pull on me. But i guess with the lt1 and not able to breath as much like the ls1 up top i did pretty good till then. So i guess time to start improving the topend.

I think only a few people really read his post. Why Is everyone talking about 03/04 Cobra. He clearly stated his opponent was a SOHC GT

what did it cost you to buy and install your LT4?

i had a 94 lt1 6 spd, stock heads, stock cam, had a powerdyne s/c running 6 psi. i had full exhaust and 410s, nothing else. a halfass tune, to boot. i would walk all over stock cobras and "lightly modded" ones all day long. i wish i had a camera to record the looks on their faces. i only trapped 115-116 in the 1/4, so i know i wouldn't have kept up with a cobra that had any more than a catback or cai. i got beat badly by a cam-only ls1, that is what showed me the light. sold the lt1. bought an ls1. enough said.

alright so since he gets me up top cause i already know the lt1 starts to loose it powerband up top unlike the ls1 it still continues to haul ***. What sort of things could i start with to improve the topend of my lt1. i just have new magnaflow exhaust and cai I don't have headers but i am planning to remove the cat and get some headers here soon too. But what about things like porting the heads and manifold how much more would that give? Or are there other suggestions to just start with for now?

thanks
