Down here at the supra national a couple of weeks ago, there where some cars that went to Corpus Christi for the mile run. There is a wide open track that use to be a base for the military(where planes land). Anyway, there where quite a few cars that where doing standing 1 mile runs. The fastest car there was a supra, that ran 204mph. That is fast as hell considering you only have one mile to do it in.

Show me 5 videos of highly modified supras losing from a roll against a vette or viper or any other car for that fact.
That was Tommy Banh's car at it was 201.7, he didnt even launch or start getting into it at the beginning he started at the 1/2 mile in 4th gear...now thats impressive

Skylines are not to be hated on either. The fastest production car 1/4 mile, other than supercars, is a Skyline. The new NISMO Skylines run low 10's from the factory. Sure they are overworked older Skylines, but I read that in a magazine, so I guess they are thought of as that.

actually the Gto was the fastest in the 1/4, I have a video to prove it saved on my computer (stock jap cars, raced in japan) if you can tell me how to put it in a thread.

altho it was very close and I dont think one is really "faster" than the other.

Supras are nice ,but most of them don't run well at the track. I know of 30 f-body with 550rwhp can run 9-10's a day long, and I know of 10 600-700rwhp supras that can't run 10's. I'm not hating on the supras so I don't want to here any rice bitchin! just speekin the truth!

The reason why domestic due well at the track is becuase, they take time out to do gears. And alot of them are auto anyway.

I don't understand how a production GTO can run 10's in the 1/4.

Thats because it doesnt. No Skyline/GTO runs 10's from the factory.

haha, its cool. As a former VR4 owner, I used to get all the usual **** blah blah yak yak, but the car is in the 12's for 500 bucks (gut cats, manual boost controller to 15psi, downpipe). 10's require about ten grand tho. It's a great street car, bc of the launch, which, when done right, doesn't put too much abuse on the transfer case.

I got rid of it bc I wanted a powerful n/a that was newer, and of course, I LOVE CORVETTES!!!

I read this in a magazine about a year ago. I think it's making more than 600hp, in order for it to run 10,s at that curb weight. If a new C6 vette run mid 11's with 500hp and a curb weight of 3000lbs, how fast can a 3400lb car be?

They say the Skyline makes 500 BHP. I hear it dynos around that number. A bad *** AWD system and 500 to the wheels =10's. The turbo setup is nasty also.

A lingenfelter Corvette would pull a supra with equal horsepower. Think about it, The corvette is lighter(3230 v 3450) and more aerodynamic(.29 v .33) which means alot in a highspeed roll race. Not to mention the lingenfelter vette has a 427. It will have ALOT more power under the curve aswell. Lastly, the gearing isn't that much different between the two cars(3.42 in vette vs 3.27 in supra) The only advantage the supra has is that it can pull to a higher rpm, but in my opinion the corvette's advantages outweigh that.

Stock it makes around 300. And I believe it take more than 500 hp at the crank to get into the 10's (well mybe a 10.9 on a freak perfect run) bc of 25% drivetrain loss due to awd thats like 400awhp, although its probably not a full 25% on the Altezza (Atezza, Atessa?)AWD sytem.

Sounds right to me, so do we have any vids to prove it, vette vs. supra highly-modded or stock races?go vette

Personally, most of the people here wont admit it and i wont point any out., but a basic BPU supra witha great driver, will whoop a lot of your asses. thats my 2 cents

I doubt there are any videos between the two cars with exactly the same horsepower. With drivers with exactly the same skill, and wiegh exactly the same.
