Default got beat by a Viper

well the night starts out at about 11pm, just getting out of work, everyones already asleep so i try to find something to do, somewhere to go, ended up driving around. so i get on randall rd. and head out towards elgin. after about 20 minutes of driving on this road an eclipse comes up behind me, it was a V6, not sure of the year, F&F2 body style. he stays behind me for a while, i speed up to let him switch lanes, and he never does. after about 5 minutes of this we come across a red light were he jumps into the left lane. im thinking "ok this guy just jumped over there the second the light went red, i think he wants to go". light goes green and he takes off normal and then floors its. the way he took off made me think he wasnt gonna go so when he does im caught off guard and just floor it, something i have to remember not to do with a 3600 and street tires. so i let off and get back on it, roaring past him. we get to the next light and hes doing this to me -> , i found that pretty funny

so with nothing to do, i start heading home. i catch a red light and see a set of headlights that were unusual. light goes green and i take off, and i notice even after i hit 50 these lights were still catching up to me fast, next thing i know this guys riding on my bumper. so i speed up a bit so he can switch lanes and keep going. he gets next to me and i see its a viper, i dont know the year just that it had sidepipes and a targa top. ive always loved Vipers so i figured id follow this guy a bit. get behind him and he nails it, takes off like a rocket, so i try to keep up and get out in front of all the traffic. finally get out in front, nothing around just me and him. we drove side by side for a bit untill we were out of town and over the last hill. he gives a little rev, then i do, and he does again. im confused on what exactly hes trying to do here, so i figure hes got 10 cylinders and im gonna lose anyways, so hit it at about a 40 roll. by 80 he had put a car on me and at about 120 when i let off he put about a 1.5-2 car gap on me.

i lost, but i did enjoy seeing that thing tear *** down the road

2 at 120 is not bad at all for your mods, esp considering the stall does not help to much at that punch speed (or does it?).

Seriously that pretty impressive. Was it the SRT generation of the second gen?

I've always wanted to race a Viper, but everyone around here with one is old... Good job holding your own against the Viper!

Stalls help greatly from a roll as well because when the car shifts, it's higher in the rpm band compared to the stocker (shift extension).

Well, the sidepipes were not on the second Gen, so right there you know it was a 1G or a SRT model. Chances are its a earlier gen if it looked older.

Thats still well over 400HP and god knows how much torque. Not to mention it makes that power from like 1800 to 6000.

Nice.

Good job, just think how nice it would've been to have had a little shot of gogo juice, like a 100 shot... Nice death though! Vipers are definitely a worthy death
