I was too lazy to actually post so I just hit him with a . Thanks for
spelling it out.

I love how people bitch when a stock motor lets go at 650rwhp.
WTF did you expect?

I wasnt saying he didnt beat him, Im sure he did, I just chimed in to state some obvious errors concerning mod motors. Unit and I both actaully owned 11 sec LS1's and I will have another one Im sure. No hard feelings. The only two cars to have or even argue about are LS1's and Mods. Nice kill ....

You can blow any motor anytime at virtually any power with forced induction if you are running way to lean or have detonation issues etc.

The new Mod motors are probably some of the best FI lumps ever put on the road for public use.

Yea, what he said.

Your stock motor supposedly has forged internals. There's LS1 out there pushing over 600rwhp on a stock bottom end. Some blow up some dont with that much power. It's a gamble for sure, but you dont see many strokers blow up with 650 to the rear running FI.

Stock means nothing. Just "parts that came from the factory." I dont think a motor with forged internals should blow up with 650hp, no. Is there something wrong with thinking that?

Could be in the tune, but i've heard of more then just 2, thats only local here in CA.

One of my customers blew thier LS1...A4! Pulley and a lid.....B L E W it up. Nothing to do with the driver, internal failure. It can happen to anyone, but you put 600+ horses to the ground, you are on barrowed time. You realize a stock 180hp LG4 is only going to live so long.

Dangit! I wasn't gonna get involved here but I am. The stock Cobra motors have hypertueretic pistons with too close of clearance and too short of skirts. They also have a cooling flaw unless ya get the heads released in Jan '05. Do the cooling mod and change slugs and it's usually all good with a proper tune to VERY high boost. Could that LT-1 beat the Snake? I've seen stranger things happen. Don't forget that the Cobra probably weighed over 4100#'s with the wife in the car against whatever the LT-1 car weighed. Later guys...

'03/'04 Cobras have forged pistons, not hypereutectics.
And the revision is for cars that have the tick and is related to the valve guide casting, not the cooling passages. The numerous head cooling fixes out there are a bandaid for the relatively low percentage of cars with "the tick".

I thought 5 second cars had cylinders so big I could put my head in them. Didn't know a LT1 can handle 6,000+ Horsepower either...

ummm its not necessarily plenty to dominate his lt1. i dont think you noticed the HEADS/CAM on the lt1. with good heads and a big cam its not too hard to beat a cobra like that. also when you go from a roll you have to really really suck at shifting for someone to out drive you. i mean come on, all you do is put it in gear and go. not that hard.

Yes, it is plenty to dominate him. A H/C LT1 isn't making enough power to
go bottom 11's and trap in the mid 120's.

Didn't he say the Cobra had exhaust and a pulley? Does that equate to a low 11 sec. car? I'd say a heads and cam LT1 is going to be a serious handful for a pullied Cobra. I'm not surpised he won at a all.

Im not going to start a bit$h fest here, but an LT1 h/c would have a tough time trapping 118. Id say closer to 110-115. Though the latest Hotrod mag has a red LT1 Z28...N / A.....running 9.90's @135. Wow. Weighs 2900lbs. My .02.

Yes it does, provided the guy can drive and is on a drag radial.
