It's hard to find anyone to come out and run anymore.

Exactly what he needs to do.. i'm running 20psi... whole different beast !

Yeah...but your car probably works very well with that TH350 and spray.
He might get to the point that he can't hook the car, or has trouble hitting clean shifts.

I'd say you'll still get him.

On a side note...it's cool to talk **** about this stuff without dealing with a bunch of internet fucktards like on LSx.com.

I agree with both statements. Unless he's running a solid axle and a mean
tire, I say you'll walk him.

He lives by me so we are friends. He has 11 inch cobra rims w/315-35 nitto drag radials. 8.8 rear w/stock 3:55 gears. Tubular k-member. no front sway-bar, Qa1's and it's got some springs I didn't ask what kind. I talked to him today and he said it put down between 530-540rwhp when we raced. I'm on M/t drag radials so I might be ok i'll just play with my air pressure.

why do the KBs need so much boost? 22 psi i think they're made for and they put out about 600-650 or so. 22 psi into an ls1 would be like .. well over 800 hp id imagine.

KB's (or Whipples) don't "Need" 22 psi. You can make 600 rwhp at 17-18 psi.

And 22 psi into an LS1 would not be "well over 800 hp", it would be more like a scattering of engine parts. However, assuming it could live, 346 c.i. and 10.5:1 compression would obviously make more hp per pound of boost than 281 c.i and 8.5:1 compression.

Ok please correct me if Im wrong but if you want to build a high boosted LS1 and do it safely you would want to lower the compression and naturally building the motor? By lowering the compression you WILL lose power, compare a 01 Cobra with KB 8-9PSI to a 03/04 Cobra with 8-9PSI The 01 has higher compression and will put out more power but won't be as safe as the lower compression as the 03/04. One reason why I hate to hear the comments about what a bigger higher non forged motor can do with the same boost.... Dumb comment IMO!

If GM were to have SC or TC an LS1 from the factory Im sure for reliabilty purposes they WOULD lower the compression and lose NA power to make FI power.

Correct me if Im wrong....

I can only imagine what some guys think rolling up to a light with a T-rexed LS1 with LT's. Thats nice man. That is the only thing I had to get used to with my Cobra, quiet as a mouse. Until you punch it ofcourse.

Yea, I am buying two Whipples atop the engine being fed by two Hellion Turbos ...180mm Turbos, feeding the Whipples......should be pretty stout. Some day...............

Hows that Unit? Stock clutch should do fine.
