CBR900 vs 408 SS
I think it is. I visit a few times a year...without the car though damn it.
That's too far to drive.

oK THANKS. That should be about right from what I have been seeing now.
A 1998 900rr was my second bike I ever owned, and the one I owned for the longest period of time. They are great bikes for stability and especially stunting, but not that quick in stock form. Mine went 11.0's @ 123-125ish in stock form, this is also with a 200 lb rider (at the time). So a 408 ci F-body could definately put some lengths on one, I don't know about "bus" lengths but I could see a 500+ rwhp F-body outrunning one with a decent driver. 900rr's are about on par w/ the newer 600's in terms of speed.
There's too many variables to compare the two. I would say a 120 lb rider who knows how to ride the **** out of a bike would be untouchable even on an older 900rr, but your average 160-185 lb rider could be beaten on the street on just about any bike if they don't know what they're doing. I saw some dipshit on a 2004 R1 get outran by a 13 second WRX one time, and thats a low 10 second/140mph bike bone stock.
You will be amazed how fast a new 600 s with a small good rider....I beat up on 4 600's in one night (including a new 636, which is the fastest 600 made now) with me carrying a 300 lb passenger....however I raced a buddy of mine with a 600RR and (supposedly) just a pipe, and when he hits it in 1st gear, he beat me because I just spin, but when he is in 2nd and we go from 45 mph where I kinda hook, its even till uptop and I pull then.
Everyone thinks 600's are a joke, but most people who have beaten them have raced inexperienced riders. PERIOD. I see many mildmly modded F-body's claiming victory agains 600s, and it just wouldn't happen with a decent rider...not ever.
My friend hopped on a 600 last year, never been on that bike before, and raced a 605 Mopar (indy cylinder heads built motor, tubbed, no hood, etc. The car runs high 9's on motor and low 9's on spray. On the street, the lil bike won all the way through....
Did the bike look like this?
That paint scheme was pretty popular on the 95 900 rr. If I remember correctley it was the fastest bike on the market when it came out. Its def no sloutch. I have no idea on its performance.

Don't forget most are these times are acheived with a jockey or a very good rider. An average rider will be .5-1 sec slower.

Even my stock internal SS was able to put a hurtin on a 929RR (me on the bottle of course).
All 3 runs highway speeds(his choice) 85-140,i think i about emptied the bottle but i still took him everytime.
That's the stuff that puts a big ole smile on your face.
You would have totally abused the poor guy if your bootle was full!!!!
Nice run
Dave
