Edit- Haha, looks like I owned myself! Don't really know too much about the Cobra R, guess I musta confused the Saleen S281c or whatever it is, maybe. Who knows. Just tired of Wesman jumping into every thread and immediately calling bs when an LS1 loses to an import.

So wait the sti has 380-400 awhp PLUS a 100 shot of N2O? Please post some pics if you can. Im not saying it isnt possible but man he must have tens of thosuands of dollars into the car to make those kinds of numbers. On a non-forged stock sti block there is no way he can push 400 awhp with an upgraded turbo then spary a 100 shot on top of it, at least I havent seen or heard of anyone being able to push the stock block/stock internals that far. Gotta be a built engine with a nasty fuel system (maybe stand alone), plus some killer tuning.

lol now your asking alot more then i know, the guys name is brandon parish if theres any sti sites out there he might be on them he races it alot, we used to work together and after work we went out riding one night if i catch up with him ill try to get some pics. i honestly dont know what all hes done so i wont claim stuff, i just know what he told me, and i dont see any reason for him to lie about his car, esp. after i saw what it could do. hes got money so i wouldnt know what all he has. like i said with the stock turbo the cars about 300hp, hes got a bigger turbo and does have the nx. as for having a built engine maybe, i know it sounded really nice. i probaly wont see him for a couple of weeks due to work...hes a fireman and im at the police academy, but when i see him ill ask him about his track times to. if he does have the internals done i dont see why the block couldnt hold it.

 

Haha hey man, sorry just interested in his setup. I have a bunch of buddies with evo's, sti's, srt-4's etc and I hadnt heard of anyone pushing that much power on a stock sti block (by that i mean stock short block/stock internals). If he has forged parts in his stock block then that totally changes everything. I dont think hes lying, just want to hear/see what he has done as it sound slike one sick setup. If you do get a chance try to talk to him and see what hes got done to it and if possible have him join the site.

 

I dunno. I hear the EJ20 and Ej25 bottom ends are not as robust as 4G63 hardware, but then I hear that from Evo guys LOL. I do know the record a stock bottom end old 7bolt DSM is about 530WHP. (The old 7 bolt is trash according to most DSMers)

So I can see 500WHP on stock bottom end. Having said that, the juice and the stock turbo might result in some psychotic temps in the cylinders. Stock ring gaps wont like that. Boom.

 

If YOU knew what YOU were talking about, you'd know why I was so quit to hate on him... Hell, I love LS1's, thats why I hang around this site, and when I get out of college, and can afford one, I plan on getting one. Wesman is just a tool, and pisses everyone off. But, whatever, I admitted as to being wrong, and that I fucked up, I really don't give a ****. Everyone is wrong sometimes.

Well, I guess it gets to ya after a while when every single thread invlolving an Evo or STI winning a race between either an LS1, or other V8 muscle car, he calls bs, and trash talks the EVO and STI. The guy talks **** about their rides, calling them ricer piece of *****, etc. I rarely call someone an idiot, moron, or tool on this board. But you are right, this is "the internet for christs sake", haha.

Anywho, the guy has been banned anyway, so it really doesn't matter, and welcome to the board

 

Well thanks for the welcome, but I'm still not following what you are really complaining about.

If someone doesn't like the Evo or STi, they are entitled to their opinion. Personally I don't like those cars either, I'm not a fan of 4 door 4 cylinder "performance cars" either. If he thinks they are "rice" or pieces of ****, then thats his opinion. Leave it at that. I could see getting upset about it if he went over to the Evo forums and said that, being that its a site for Evo enthusiats, but this isn't an Evo forum. This is LS1Tech, a forum about Muscle cars. If you don't want to hear trash talked about Japanese imports, go to a Japanese import forum.

well i dont like most rice cars, i hate the mitsubitchy. the only exception is the sti, becuase you can do other things with it, like rally type things....i mean come on its a 4 wheel drive car you can go mudding in

 

Ahh, well, I guess you'd have to see more of his posts. Basically, he acts as if he was the one present during the race, and he says **** as if he was actually the one racing, and calls bs, on totally valid stories. I'm really not a big fan of the EVO or STI, or pretty much any import either, but hey, I'm not gonna be ignorant, and act as if every story where an LS1 loses is bullshit(yes, I know the engine has been touched by the hand of god... but still ). I dunno, the guy is disrespectful, and jumps on people, when everyone else is having a normal conversation.

I understand that this is an LS1 forum, but this guy gives LS1 owners a bad name. Most of the guys here are realistic, they love their LS1's, but aren't ignorant to the fact that there are other fast cars out there. And thats why there are so many different car people on this board. Ton's of good technical information, and just a generally good community of level-headed, knowledgeable car enthusiats. Wesman has proved in many of his previous posts that he is not one of those people. Hope helps clear up some of the confusion.

oh, and ps. as for the heat... I think I can handle it... been in the middle of flame wars in the past, and not gone home crying to mommy because some big bad bully on the internet picked on me. ... but I digress...

 

Why don't you learn more about his mods (your friend) and what kind of power he's making? I'm curious to know. Hard read but I got the point.

Do a search on wesman's user name and you will see what he is complaining about. True everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it is a public forum, but he just posts in every imports thread and bashes their car. It could be a 600 awhp evo and he would call it rice, which is just idiotic. It is ls1tech.com, but there are lots of members on the board who are intelligent car owners who have fast imports. Even if your not a fan of them you dont have to call them riced out pieces of **** just to be an ***...

 

While your comments are appreciated, perhaps you should do some research
and review several of these members post history. That might paint a
little more clear of a picture for you.

We have plenty of moderators so feel free to post and don't worry about
what everyone else is doing.
