Against a mid to late 90's (I think) Neon in my 3.4l camaro It was a slow but close race and I still won!

I bet that was something to see. Did you guys make it over the speed limit by much? Thats kind of cool a street race without the risk of a speeding ticket.

 

Believe me, I'v been driving for over a year now, I dont have an LS1, my 3.4 camaro is my first car, 19 right now BTW. I have never raced cause I'm scared of getting caught in the action by a cop. The dude in the Neon just kept bugging me, we were on a country back road not far from where I live. So we raced from a 10mph roll. I had the jump on him by about a car lenght, he caught up as my car was up at about 60mph in 2nd gear, thats right at about 4500rpm, these 3.4ls have no top end power. By then we were side by side and I slowly inched away till we got up to 95mph, I had him by half a car lengh, thats when we cut off cause of a turn coming up.

I'm sure he was probably stock cause my camaro is stock also.

 

That's a good job man.....don't let anyone rag you about it. It's your first car. Eventually you'll wind up with a V8. hell my first car was a 90 Cavalier w/ a 2.8 5-speed. Hell I'd race anything...win or loose!

I'm fixing to join the Coast Guard so when I get back from boot camp I'll have over a couple thousand bucks, then I can the sell the camaro for maybe 3 grand and start looking around for a nice looking 98+ WS6 to put down payment on.

my first car was a V8 camaro.. hell I've only owned V8 GM products my entire life. 3 camaros, a trans am, a cadillac and a suburban!

those 3.4's can take some abuse
i turboed, sprayed it, powershifted it revved to 6000
total abuse and lost a lot of races and won some too mainly against
gt mustangs and ricers but it gives you a foundation of racing
when the 3.4 finally gave out instead of selling it i transplanted
a 370 turbo LSx because i felt it desrved a second chance of revenge
and then some

haha I used to race with my 1997 corolla. I got a head start on a 99-04 automatic V6 mustang and it wrecked me. I also raced a friends dodge caravan and it killed me. It even lost to a manual 1986 corolla!!! wtf?

What a POS car. The only race it's ever one is with a mid 90's civic with 5 people in it, we had 4.
