Camaro vs. R32-with R33 engine
Hey everyone I currently am buidling my 1998 camaro z28 I have a 347 forged short block, lsx and 90 mm throttle botty custom ram air with dual k@n, ported mass air flow 42lb injectors, .581 .586 with a duration .232 and .236 exhuast custom ground for nitrous patriod stage 1 heads with 921 springs, built trany stage 3 clutch steel drive shaft....full suspension. It should be done her shortly......... however here in arizona theres been alot of high end imports making some noise about there bad *** toys....Well Im suppose to race this kid with a R32 with a R33 engine swap upgraded boostcontroller 18lbs custom ecu, 4;11 Full suspension Intake exhuast weight reduction, Injectors, Intercooler sprayer. I believe were putting money down.... I road in his car and from a dead stop his car dropps from 6,000 and luanches faster then a built R1 Bike... However His best time is 12.00, I still have my stock rear end I dont know if i should use the nitrous or not.... Im worried with ym 6 speed its goin to ripp it in half......anyone have idea how the race will turn out or any suggestion to help put me over the top?

ummmm....the combo he's running should be good for better than 12.00......although I will say I think the MAJOR weak point of your setup is your heads. Not a bad cam, but with that and the LSX intake.....just think you need better heads. Also if you have Nitrous, you should RAPE a car that runs 12.00.
You're going to have to feather it off the line with that 10 bolt or you might break with some sticky rubber. Is this race going to be at the track or on the street?? The skyline should get you off the line but I think you can catch him!

Another thing.....if I were you I would have DEFINITELY saved the 700 and change from that intake and put that towards some better flowing heads, and just used an LS6 intake.
Just my $.02

Put a window switch on it and have it kill the nitrous 200 rpm before you shift, as long as your not spraying through the shifts i think the rear will make it. Also wait till 3rd to kick in the spray if your really worried. Id think you would real him in damn quick after you launched.
Also find it hard to beleive its on 18PSI and only runs a 12.00? You sure about that??? If its true its a hunk of junk and you should tell him that!

he is probably sandbagging if he doesn't have a cage in the car, doesn't want to hit the 11.99 or 11.49 (depending on the track I guess)
I wouldn't run him for top end honors, as Skylines are top end monsters and geared properly can hit 200mph in thier 5th gear (1:1 ratio), while you will need your 5th gear or possibly 6th gear and both of those are your overdrives.

Hey
Ya he is running 18lbs of boost i video taped him running again a vr4 with a built motor and i watched him turn it up he ran 12.5 and 14.5lbs And about running him from a role he wont do it because he's got awd with 4;11 and a 5 speed. He already he'd lose so he wants to run from a dig........ I havent ran my car with the new set up so i dont know how good from a start im goin to run.... plus with stock gears and rear end. Some told me about the window switch for nitrous...... so you think If I ran him from a dig and programed it to run in third gear i'd be able to catch him?

wow on your setup, you should be able to beat a 2002 ss with a 100 shot with your setup. on that cam and aftermarket heads, I think you should see more than 400 rwhp if not even 450. You will walk this skyline if he is only running a 12.
