Well I raced a bad boy tonight guys
So I go out to the car show they are having here in town. It has been drizzling all day and I am just flat *** annoyed. All this fresh meat rolling around but just cant race. As the day progresses it stops for a while. Enough to dry the roads some what. Well this guy pulls up in a 80's something or other all primered out with flames on it. It was the Nova body style but different manufacturer.
It is hitting hard. It turns out the guy hast a SBC 383 with a solid lifter cam that is a 680 lift. It was sexy sounding. On top of all that fun he had a 180 shot of juice. I look the car over good and it has a full cage and a stainless steel dash with a full spectrum of gauges running across it.
After about half an hour he walks up to me and says "Well, we better line'em up before it gets real bad". Turns out someone called him to come run me. I had no idea, but was more than happy with it. So we go out to the airport road. The whole drive out to the spot there is a slight mist falling again. We go up and down the road once and line'em up. Now this is the part I am lost on. He a radial on. I figured with a big *** stall he would blow them off and I stood a chance out of the hole
Turns out I was F'n WRONG. We line up and his buddy bravely stands between us to flag. His arms drop and this thing jumps out of the hole on me by a car immediately. I am spinning my *** off and dont seem to be able to get it under control. I shift into 2nd early and still spin until just before 3rd.
at that point I am 3 cars back and he is walking on me hard. In the middle of 3rd I stop his pull but no more. He gets me by 6 cars. I am disgusted. I wish I had the bottle but still think it would not have been enough to get around him. That car just miricals itself out of the hole.
We lined them up again. I thought I had it some what figured out, but it ended with the exact same out come.

I have yet to get a good time out of her. I have the factory 10bolt. So I run radials only. Not even drag radials. So the N2O would of probably hurt me more than help. It was just an old fashion back country *** whoopin. The car flat moved. It is supossed to quit raining tonight. I have asked him for another race tomorrow. I will se if I fare any better.

doesnt seem right if he runs legit 10.4s. he should be ahead of any 12 second car by 5 cars immediatly. I should know, ive raced plenty 10second cars. Sounds like hes feeding you some doody.
You rearend it strong enough, if you support it. Im launching off 125 shot of nitrous and with slicks. no breaks yet.
lca, panhard bar, sfc, girdle, stud kit, auborn hi po posi, motive 373s, and no wheel hop.
Again, that fool aint runnin 10.4s

well you ran a 12.0, that could be the problem. not hating, but mph doesn't mean **** when you cannot put the gobs of torque you are making to the ground. im surprised that YOU are surprised you lost. get a friking drivetrain in that car or expect to loose to ANY car that is properly set up, and possibly alot less power than you.

I am suprised I lost because of the conditions. I figured big stall and roads not being what they should would of worked to my advantage. Also he is a legit 10.4. To look and hear the thing you know he isn't BSing. Plus there are several people that know the guy. he owns several race cars come to find out.

I dont want to argue, bc im sure u believe him. You simply cannot just listen to a car and know its legit on the track, sure u can tell if its cammed and all, but i just wouldnt bet my house on the fact.

No excuse for the loss. You have the power. Get it down to the ground (just bustin' your *****). But really, with a sick launch, your car would be really hard to beat, especially with spray to back it up.

Not to hijack this but to make a point about traction. I ran an '03 Cobra wearing DR's in similar conditions while I was on Hoosier QTP's. I had him by 12 or so at the 1000' foot mark and he had 50+ more horses. Traction is king period. Power ain't nothin' if'n ya can't hook. Nice death BTW, now ya need the Moser or the 9 inch in there.
