I have yet to see a stock LS2 GTO run under 13.4.
I handle them easy in the V, so it should be a drivers race with an WS6. Just get er dun!

it's more difficult to perform a clean launch out of a gto because of its irs suspension. wheel hop can be really bad on this cars and this particular condition is a real et and trap killer, inexperienced drivers are not ready to deal with this situation and more likely they would get off the gas giving you an easy win. you have more chances of winning the race if you go from a dig simply because you know your car.
an LS2 gto has more HP/TQ across the entire powerband and its geared better, this doesn't guarantee a race if the person behind the wheel doesn't know how to get the most out of his/her combo. as with any other car, you just need to get used to the way the car reacts under hard launches, it takes more time for some people, but it's not really hard to perform with some practice.
also, it's funny to read we are the slowest powered ls2 cars. even funnier to read this coming from somebody who has a car with the weakest rear end in the gm performance lineup (Cadillac CTS-V)
again, the gto is heavier than an ls1 powered fbody, yes, but it does have more power , enough power to overcome the weight issue.

I disagree, most LS2 GTOs put down 330-350 stock and weigh 3800 pounds. Most 01-02 f bodies put down 310-330 stock and weigh about 3400-3500 pounds. That equals out to be about a tie. Stock for stock is a straight up drivers race.

you're also talking about peak numbers, i'm talking about entire and useable powerband. i've yet to have troubles with ls1 fbodies with similar mods. and when i said similar mods i'm talking about ls1 fbodies with intake lid, ls6 maf, o/r y pipe, catback, pullies, tune. that doesn't mean of course that every gto out there would run the same or that every fbody would run the same.
