Ok, my friend just got an 05 goat and i have a 00 WS6. Both have M6. I just want to know what i have to do to be faster than him. I know i'm a better driver (past experiences) but i have alot of HP to make up. Both cars are pretty much stock, mine has HPP3 and a lid, his is bone stock. Any answers would be cool thanks.

You dont need much really at all, the GTO's have more power, but also more weight, and they lose more to the ground due to the IRS. Add a cut-out and maybe some DR's and you have him easily.

i beat an 05 GTO A4 from a dig, and i also beat an 06 GTO M6 from a dig. If you drive as well as you say you do, then you should have no problem beating him the way you are.

another reason i guess i shouldn't be worried is, he's moving up from an 05 honda accord 4 banger. He's never actually driven a car with a v8 except mine once when i was drinkin and need someone to take my car home lol.

another question, kinda off the topic, is the tranny the same in an GTO? I thought i read somewhere it was a tremec. Can't remember if that's correct.

GTO's have the close ration MN12 from the 01-04 Z06. So he's got a deffinate gearing advantage on you.

You have to be a good driver to harness all of the GTO's potential.

I was playing on the freeway with what looked to be an 06' GTO (had the hood scoops and looked brand new) doing runs from 70 to 130. I was in my basicly stock A4 Formula. He was not inching on me until we reached high speeds, maybe 115-120. I was very surprised he wasn't gaining quicker. Gearing does play a big part. He had a M6 BTW.

I ran an 03/04 Cobra on the freeway at high speeds (75+) just to see how bad he'd annihilate me. He had to have had steep gearing cause we were about even. It was a short run though. I have 3:23s myself.

From a roll my friends 05/06 (not sure) goat pulled an M6 02 WS6 from a low speed roll to 100+ by about 1 car. Sorry im not sure about the speeds, but it was a slight pull, 1 car.

air the front tires up to 50psi, rear to 28, 1/4 tank of gas, drive like you stole it and you should beat him....

GTO's are probably the slowest LS2 powered vehicle out there. Look at the stat sheet and they should be faster than what they are.

I have yet to see a stock LS2 GTO run under 13.4.

I handle them easy in the V, so it should be a drivers race with an WS6. Just get er dun!

Theres plenty of stock ones in the 12s but weight is a really bad killer on these things. Another thing to remember about these cars is they are slow *** ******* **** when they are brand new so if you race a new one its not going to be fast. As for the question I say you will beat him the way you sit.
