badass notchback kill- i think i got lucky on this one, which i'll explain in a minute.
so the night starts off flat. nobody wants to run, just stand around and bullshit like normal. same cars, we know what everybody runs, we've raced each other 100+ times etc...
THEN 2 stangs roll up- one blinged up fox body and one notchback that looked like it meant business. full slick, skinnies, cage, etc... naturally i walk up with a few others that knew them and started the suttle **** talking.
after looking at my car from the back (my car looks completly stock, as you can see in sig- and hence the user name) the guy driving the blinged up stang asks if i want to for $. i say "hell no" since im not stupid, and i had a pretty good idea what the other stang ran (he is semi-local).
long story short, sombody walks over to me about an hour later and says "you on spray the stang on motor- for fun no $"-- sounds good to me!
right before we line up im told the car runs 11.20's on motor and high 9's on spray- so it will indeed be a good run. probably a traction war.
i heat the tires, this guy doesn't even turn his slicks to clean them off or anything, just lines up. i don't know what anybody told him about my car but he is obviously underestimating how im gonna run.
i get a good hook, putting him about at my bumper around the 60ft. mark and then hit the button. no contest, i get him by like 5-7 carlengths. he pulls up afterwards laughing saying "damn that ******* thing took off". we talked about doing a re-run then he says to hell with it and he'll see me next weekend.
moral of the story- don't underestimate people like this guy did. a 11.20 car not launching hard is a mid-high 11 second car. you can be made to look very foolish.
they guy was cool as hell however, didn't make any excuses or anything just complimented my ride.

well a couple things could happen-
1. he was completly playing with me and he is gonna try to get me to race for $ (people pull this **** all of the time- and this guy races for $ most of the time)
2. he just flat out messed up and will launch harder and try me again on motor
3. he is going to spray me for principal.
hopefully #2 but we'll see.

If he runs 11.2's, you could still win on spray if he dos.
Granted it's teh street and you'll both be slower, but if you hook it would be a good race.

sorry to sound like an ***, but if you are not running at LEAST 12.50's we don't even tell people to come down and hang. any slower cars just get in the way and waste everybody's time.
to put it this way, there are NUMEROUS cars around that will slaughter mine without much effort. those guys keep to the underground though, most of the cars around regularly are into the 11's, with a few a tad faster and quite a few in the mid-low 12's.
NOW- if you have access to a digi camera we could make an exception
