First, I would like to see you drop a supercharged LS7 in a miata. Second, I am not bragging about anything, just trying to inform someone who obviously doesn't know about RX's or their motors. Third, I just think it is ignorant to put down a car ("piece of rice crap") because it was built for a road course, and not the drag strip. And yes they are slow in a straight line, everyone knows that.

I don't agree with how 6SPD called the RX a "piece of rice crap" either, but I do have to say that if you're idiotic enough to run an RX7/8, without extensive mods (and/or an engine swap!), against an LS1-powered f-body on the highway, then you're throwing the "it wasn't built for the dragstrip" excuse out the window. Especially on the streets, the pen is in the hands of the victor; 6SPD can slam that car any way he chooses - he earned it IMO.

It's all easily reciprocated anyway. Had the RX8 burned 6SPD, we can all guess what he'd be posting on his boards in regards to the different purposes each car is built for.

Almost all of the RX8 owners I run into dont know that, they always try to straight line run me like they think they have a chance. They havent figured out that their cars are slow yet. They do handle real nice though.

They should know it, because I drove one and said "WTF..." It was slow as ****, but grabbed corners nicely. With a 100 more hp, it would be a blast.

Listen, I'm sorry for putting down your car. It is quite the acomplishment on your behalf to do an LS1 conversion in a Mazda. You have to expect a little heat if you are boasting imports on a GM based website. There are a lot of people on this board who are "die hard" for American cars.
I understand that you are big into road course racing and you built the best possible car for your budget...cool....but you have to understand that there are people like myself who have a hard time warming up to the import scene.
No hard feelings...drive fast and be safe!

Ford owns majority stock in Mazda btw. I suppose that makes them SOMEWHAT american, huh? And he wasn't "boasting" import cars, simply telling you that they are NOT made for the straights.

I made my car to go fast at the strip. I think full interior, with a bolt-ons head/cam car, that can go 10's with a nice tire on it, is pretty fast in a straight. Then being able to pull over 1 g on the skidpad, and get 20 mpg is pretty good. And not many domestics have the looks and style of imports (By imports with looks I mean Supras, RX-7's, 240's, Skylines). I do love a camaro or mustang with some big *** tires on it. But it doesn't have the style.

just want to chime in here and say that i have to agree with nightwinddriftr!! Even if the RX8 wasent ment for straight line performance, than thats his fault for opening that can up on himself and deserves whatever he gets!!!!

the rx-8's are very slow stock. they have NO tq whatsoever. and even fiarly modded their not that great in straight line. they do handle Really Really well. but in a road course stock for stock a ls1 will still beat an rx-8 our cars dont handle that badly.

Once again, you whoring your car. And what's up with you bringing up style? That argument is more subjective than one about what kinds of girls we prefer to pork.

Anyway, to add my opinion, you could have at least named ATTRACTIVE imports (minus the RX-7, your list = sux). I'm thinking more along the lines of the 300ZXs, S2000s, and TSXs.

i don't think the rx8 would fair very well if there's a hint of straight away on the course. My car on the other hand, would get it's *** handed to it by Special Ed riding a tricycle on a road course.

most tracks find themselves with only about 2-3 straight aways. by the time the fbody hits the straight, the RX8 will be in the next set of turns.

(RX8)............................................. .......................>
(fbody).......................>
that's what i find amazing about road/twisties, hp isn't everything.

THe supra is sexy and has style and all that, but when you pull up next to an old school Judge and your car shakes in rhythm with the elephant under the hood it just does something to ya. Ask any girl who has sat in a Supra and then sat in an old school muscle car...

No it won't win, stock for stock. At most courses, the LS1 would need either suspension work or some mods. A RX-8 will keep up with a TT FD at a track, and if you tell me stock for stock a LS1 car would hang with a FD at the track, I'll internet smack you.
