A modern (last 2-4 years) 600cc bike has better gearing and better hp/weight than a 600hp f-body.
Fbody with passanger ~3700 lbs
with 600hp at wheels you have 1 hp for every 6.16 pounds.
A 2003 ZX-6 Ninja makes 108 at the wheels. 374 lbs plus 180# rider.
with 108hp at the wheels you have 1 hp for every 5.13 lbs.
Bottom line, nothing with a sustainially weaker hp/weight ratio is going to rip something else a new one.
This argument is so old, so lame and so far, in my 15 years of owning/riding and racing motorcycles...never been proved.
650-700 hp to hang with a modern 600c
850-950 hp to hang with a modern 1000cc
Go test the formula AT A RACE TRACK with a RIDER WHO HAS A CLUE...youll see.

Funny thing is I had a guy with a 600 I worked with talking about how fast it was and how it would rip my car apart and we were scheduled to race. I took him for a ride and he backed down and admitted to me that y car would take his bike down on the highway.
As a matter of fact there was a video of a Camaro with just about 720 rwhp tearing into a Zx-12R on the highway, and it wasnt close it was getting its *** WHIPPED.

It is physics but you are still off a bit. Your numbers work with bodies at rest or from a stop. The same does not apply to bodies in motion. Physics 101-It takes less power to KEEP a body in motion than to START a body in motion.
Bikes big is advantage is weight. Thats negated once you go from a rolling start. You definitely need power to beat bikes but not as much as u claim. Gearing, aerodynamics and overall horsepower play a HUGE role.

your correct...kind of. Going from 40-100 or the like can still be accurately compared to going from 0-60, you only have to correct "slightly" for existing kinetic eneregy.
Yes, most bikes are less aerodynamic than cars, but once again youre kind of correct, you have to realize surface area of the two objects in question.
Overall HP is very important. That is why most super cars have higher top speeds than super bikes. However, in the REAL world where most street races take place is somewhere in between 0-120....very much to the dismay of 99.9% of cars this speed range is where liter bikes and the only modern 750 (the GSXR750) shine.
Once again I say the car has the burden of proof here. Seeing that I have experienced first hand walking S7's, Porsche GT's and my very own Hennessey 550, umong other massively modded cars. I will say again...prove it. Because I have been there.

Thanks. I agree with that pretty much. I dont think they are many cars that can touch a liter bike from 0-120 or even 40-50 to 120. Most of my bike races start from about 60 to 150. I have definitely been there done that. There are alot of bikes on island very familiar with my rear liscense plate. LOL.

I can see that, but if youre "only" running high 10's I am guessing you have a very hard with liter bikes up to 120-130 mph. because that about where the 1/4 ends speed wise, and they mostly run low 10's. I am guess you need 150+ to pull and after that...well 140-170 is such a small peice of the pie (the pie being 0-170), is it really even worth it? After all from 0-170 the liter bike will dominat the majority of the race.

Here is a video of my car taking down a modified GSXR 750 only using 1 gear, we went from approx 60 roll. I couldn't use 2'nd gear because I did not have traction, so 3'rd gear the entire run with a 3 speed trans.

I went over to drag times dot com for cars/bikes slower than my 10.9 @ 126.95 and there are a few 600's right there at the high 10 low 11 mark.

I wish I could find my timeslip, but I ran my 02 gsxr 1000 (stock) to a 9.86 @ 144ish. I think it was supposed to make 152hp at the fly, not sure how much at the wheel. I think the new ZX-10 is supposed to hit 150mph in the 1/4.
They aren't that hard to beat, it just takes a good driver and a lot of power.

I can't tell you the physics, or anything technical by any means, at all, but I've been riding for 6 years and I've seen many of these races with the f-body and the mustangs vs bikes. I've seen a few rolling starts, from about 40-60 mph, vs the 600's and the car usually wins. But the cars usually have bolt ons: ie-exhaust. As for a 750 or 1000, I'd like to say it'd be easier to just buy the bike and race the bike around. I don't think I've found many people on the road that have cars that'll keep with my bike....but I will admit my only loss on it came to a Hennessy (sp?) Viper. Not only beat, but beat well...BTW-my bike a 2004 GSXR-1000.

It takes a 700+hp car to beat large bike.
I have a Video of a 863 hp TT Viper racing 3 Busa 1300's, from a 45-180.
One busa was stock, one was piped, and one had lightend body work and a big bore kit.
The only bike the Viper gave a run to was the stock one.
