yeah i think im going to have to go with dan03mach on this one. its not the overall size of the engine you would use to measure efficency its the cubes that matter. heck im not even so sure that a 4.6 is really that much bigger than an ls1 youve got to remember mustangs are smaller cars than f-bodies

I disagree...I venture to say not only is it bigger its also quite a bit heavier. And I dont agree with the ricer argument of hp/liter or "motion in the ocean".... Size matters.

What is heavier?? My motor is all Aluminum.. Its pretty light.. If you look at the motor the size of it is larger by means of taking up more space.. But the block it self is alot smaller.. The heads and OHC's make it look so much larger then it really is..

Heavier means it weighs more. Bigger means it takes up more space requiring a larger engine bay.

I won't install a cage so I won't be back. My last pass there I ran
an 11.0 @ 130mph while standing on the brakes to try to slow down
to greater than 11.50 so I could keep running. That was on blower only.
I don't think I'll be hitting the track with this car anymore.
maybe a different track.

true there is no replacement for displacement, i was just commenting that if you wanted to measure efficiency i would think you would measure hp/liter as far as power production goes. by no means am i trying to say a 4.6 is superior to an ls1 because theyre not ive raced a few modded 4.6s with my stock ls1 and they just cant hang with the tourque a bigger motor produces.

The 4.6 is not a motor to be racing N/A heads up that's for sure. In the world of N/A you NEED cubes plain and simple. But IMO there is a coolness factor to go fast on little motors. That is why I choose to stay N/A for now until I hit my goal. Now FI is where the 4.6 shines, mainly the 4v's.

Good kill Adam. -Mark
