With a good form of induction (read:not my current carb) People have gone low 13's all day on a setup like mine. According to a notable engine builder in AR who ran the numbers on the setup (and came to within 5 whp of what the company claimed it dynoed, no-less) it should trap around 105 at a 3500# race weight. According to others who have the same setup, it traps 103ish on avg (they normally chose smaller gears than mine though and I think my gears may help by winding it out more in 4th).

Honestly, all self-hatred aside, the car should pull 13.4's at around 103 after its running right.

Exactly. I know of MANY 5.0s that are 12-sec cars with GT-40p's. You DO NOT have to spend a fortune on a 5.0 to make it quick.

I did not spare any money on this project, my transmission cost about $2500 including bellhousing, etc. for instance. That is 2.5x what I payed for the whole damn car. The GT40P heads were left on the new motor because my goal was 280-300whp and they would allow/facilitate that. We cant all have 1200whp and I picked 103-104 as my trap-speed goal.

yea Im pretty happy with my gt40p's but I didnt want to do a h/c/i on the car and keep using those. Plus I wanted the weight savings of an aluminum head.

It came with GT40p's from the factory I bought it from. I decided to leave well enough alone. New carb should be on Friday
