This counts as a kill, I guess Around here there is a guy that has a silver fox body. He was trying to get a race, with a friend of mine who has a firehawk, its fast, and he has some experience street racing, I don't. Anyways, this fox body guy is trying to run my friend in the firehawk from a dig, my friend will only do it for money, my friend went as low as six dollars (all the kid brought with him) but still wouldn't take it. So another friend of mine, says that I should race him stock v. stock, at first I'm like he's on Nittos I'm not. But my friend keeps at it, and finally I agree, b/c I remembered that this is the kid that runs his mouth and doesn't back it up. Well we get out on the highway, and go from a 40 roll, we were both in 2nd gear (both manuals) and start after 3 honks.
Race one, me by 2-3 lengths. he says he ground a gear.
Race rwo, me by 2-3 lengths again, but he flys by me in 4th after i shut down at 95 b/c he wasn't gaining at the top of 3rd and he says he was gaining on me in 4th. Well maybe, but I was off the floor by about 88-90 mph.
I think from a dig it would have been a closer race, but I definately believe that he is probably stock.
And he didn't run his mouth anymore.

you only beat a stock fox by 2-3 lengths from a highway roll with your 6 speed ls1?
Something is not right. I beat my friends 90 gt 5 speed that had gears,exhaust, and a 75 shot by about 3-4 lengths from 20-100 when my car had a lid and cat back only.

his car also ran a 14.4 at the track. so something wasn't right....he ended up swapping the filter and gaining 8/10ths. it might not be the greatest, but its getting better.
This kid was trying to set up races for a 100 bucks earlier in the night. but he was just running his mouth. and tried running one of the locals, but completely backed out when money was mentioned. glad josh handed it to him though.

wow...was that the fuel filter or air filter?
Either is bad...but if you let the air filter get that dirty...something so accesible and easy to replace...you need to get smacked.
and if you havent replaced one or the other...now is a good time to check...not to mention...how do the plugs look? Burned out to an .080 gap

I had a framm fuel filter, and it had crap in it. i changed that and did the free mods to gain the 8/10ths. I don't think his car is 100% stock, but i really didn't want to talk to him about it, so I didn't. I think at least he had headers/ no exhaust. But still i was as surprised as anyone to beat him at all.

yeah, its a solid 13.6 car now. And most of the gain was from me launching better. But I did gain some power as my MPH went from 97 to 102. So the mods/filter did some work, though I think the biggest was off the line.

yeah im hitting 13.7s at 102 with a 2.225 60 ft now but it should be better, the mods i have now ....... limiting thing now is the weather hurts me a lot down here last time i went to the track high 80s and 70% humidity just kills the performance at the track .... also hyaving converted my car to a M6 makes launching a PITA, i broke my rear end at the track with the bad weather on a 1500RPM launch just chewed every tooth off the spider gears 
lol ...... i prolly wont go back to the track to run it until i get a stronger rear end luckily a local friend had a 10bolt out of his firehawk i could have since he just got a S60 in it..... a cam and some head work is in the works for this summer hoping to get high 300s maybe above 400 at the wheels if im extremely lucky .... gonna be a good summer for mods for me rear, cam, and some headwork is what im planning on getting done

I cant even count how many cars I have worked on (im a mechanic) that have had really dirty fuel filters that cause them to run like total ***.
