This kid in his white Bonneville claimed to be making 400 hp (flywheel) and begged to race. Home made CAI, pully, straight pipe (laughing) His conditions were hold around 80 and let him run by and see if I can catch him .... Yeah right, wasn't worth the downshift, but at least I got the results I was looking for from the top end of 4th gear 152 mph. Wonder what she'd do if I bump up the rev limiter a few hundred over 7 grand LOL ...

the funny thing is you can see him roll down his window as you flyby, he probably just said all od that just so he could hear your car.
hell doug ill race you, just give me the hit so i can hear you flyby me

To clear up some confusion, the motor was out of a newer bonneville. It was supercharged, I saw it myself at the gas station. By no means am I saying the guy claimed 400 hp to the wheel. 400 bhp at most. Anyways I downshifted to 4th and held it just before the rev limiter. If I could've done it over again I would've made sure my passenger knew not to shut the camera until I told him to. Had a lot of straight away left with ZERO cars on the road.

At least we could run if you came back down! You need to make it back down here for a couple events.

The flying mile kind of sucks because you don't have room for a top speed run, but not too bad.
You might get tossed out of the BBORR, but at least you could bust up the class speed limits once!

Just for clarification, I did see that he had a supercharged 3.8 out of some other car, I assume a newer Bonneville. His exhaust was a straight pipe that sounded like a coffee can full of marbles. I also saw a brand new out of the box pully that had just been installed. Bonneville owner claimed to have had the car fully tuned making more then 12 lbs of boost. Highly doubt it, but those were his claims. I forgot to mention, he also had some funky looking intercooler type thing. I had never seen anything like it. Bonneville man said he did it himself at his dads shop. Oh well the vid speaks for itself, downshifted to 4th and stayed in until just before the rev limiter, 152 mph!

I will totally confirm that 400HP with a pully exhaust and intake is no where near possible on a Bonnie/GTP/MC with the 3.8 SC... Maybe squeeze out 260 crank HP or a little more, that is as long as you make sure to tune it for no KR... Maybe could get 210 - 220FWHP out of them, really don't see many over that with basics over on Clubgp.com. Now if he said he had a full upgraded Cartuning Turbo Kit with the Intercooler and the 1.9 Rockers I could see him making the 400FWHP and maybe some more also because it has been done. I'm going to have to agree with he wanted to just hear you fly by him WOT.
