fox body 5.0 supercharged V.S. LT1
I was heading out of town when a blue foxy body mustang came flying by. I played catch up and we were at the last stop light heading out of town with no traffic. He asked me if I wanted to roll them and I said ok. We rolled from about 15mph . His was a manual and i had a auto. I downshifted to first and we both took off. When i pulled into second i pulled a car length on him and when i hit 80mph he was about 3- 4 car lengths behind me. We pulled over and he said that everything was stock except for his vortech supercharger. I only have a lt1 with 2.73 gears, slp loudmouth, CAI, and K&N. Are the 5.0 really that slow or did i just get lucky?

Did you hear any kind of whine from him. They only had 225 from the factory so you definitely should have kicked his anus. It is definitely possible that he had one with no other bolt-ons and lost that badly.

Considering that 94camm has the loudmouth exhaust there is a chance that he would not hear a whining noise. also depends did 94camm had his windows up or down radio on ect. I am sure you see my point. BTW 94camm good kill.

Lmao, I ran 14.4 with full bolt-ons heads and cam.
Seriously though, he should run low 14's stock and high 12's/low 13's with 6psi.
I should be in the low 13 arena when I get my new carb Friday (next). but 14.4 isnt bad running on only the primaries

A friend of mine has an 88 gt 5 speed with full exhaust and an sn 93 supercharger with boost pipe. It is putting out about 8 psi supposedly with the addition of the pipe.
I beat this car when I was lid, longtubes and catback only. We have also done it from a roll with no driver errors. I got him every time by about 3 car lengths to 100 or so. Against a mostly stock lt1 auto...I think my friends gt would most definately win.
With stock heads and cam they are not very fast with a mediocre supercharger such as the sn93. I would guess mid 13's with a good driver.
I think you got lucky or he was full of it (no supercharger)
That race sounds how it should go if he had a bolt on 5.0 5 speed car....not with a supercharger.

This kid has a LM and CAI, I think its safe to say mid to high 13's with nice tires and a good launch.
I dont think a supercharged 5.0 Foxbody would be much faster than that, especially considering it might not have been tuned, which it important for S/C cars.

if it was a vortech you would have heard it at one time or another. However it could have been a powerdyne or paxton, which are quiet and only push 6psi stock. 6#s on a stock 5.0 really wont do much. Probably no more then changing out the e7s for some gt40s and a bolton or two. The stock lower intake and heads are such a bottleneck that pushing 6lbs of boost really isn't a whole hell of alot of airflow. The car probably had about 250rwhp.

LT1 + 2.73 + automatic + cat back + CAI....it is a 14 second car in most cases.
Granted on a great day with good tires and launch he might hit some 13s if he has a good runner...but I have also seen them be mid 14's as well.
3 cars from 15-80 mph is a fairly solid win. I wouldnt doubt this car was just a bolt on 5.0 5 speed. With just a couple simple mods and a good driver they are capable of high 13's....frankly I am surprised he won by that much.
If the supercharger was set up properly and running half way decent...6 psi or not....he would not have put 3 cars on him from 15-80 unless the guy was a total *** wipe for a driver.

My a4 95 TA ran high 13's all day in the Florida heat with 2.73's. I have seen some realy fast supercharged 5.0's and I have seen some dogs! Proper set up and supporting mods are important on a supercharged car so I would say that it is very well possible that You beat a SC 5.0 with out good supporting mods.

If this mustang isn't tuned I can deff believe this story. I've seen a 96 gt with a procharger lose to a stock 01 gt with no mods. Tune is very important for a supercharger or else it will run like crap
