Default Big Mouth Mustang owner gets owned!!

First of. DAMNIT I wish we had a cam for this... anyway, there is this guy around here with a black 05 Mustang GT auto. He tells everyone it is a high 10 second car on drag radials. First night I met him, he pulls into the parking lot and says he'll race any car in the parking lot for $1,000. I had my 408 SS there and said lets go. He quickly backed out and left without any racing. About a week ago, were at the wawa and he pulls in. I didnt have my car but I got talking to him and my buddy asks him if he wants to run a Z06. he says sure so we drive 15minutes away and bring my Z out. As soon as I pull in, the guy runs away.. Were like WTF is this guys problem..
Anyway last sat. were at wendys, I had my Z06 out and the guy pulls in. My buddy bitches him into racing me finally. He wanted to go from a dig with his drag radials on. I said no way in hell. At least a 20mph roll. I was on stock tires. We get up on the road, do the u-turn and im at 20mph waiting for him... he blows right by me at around 40mph. I look at my buddy in the pass seat and are like WTF???? I catch up, my buddy yells "20mph" he starts to slow down like a mile down the road but wont go under 30... I say screw this and pull up to him doing 30-35mph, beep 3 times and he launches, I put 2 cars on him right off the line and kept on pulling, he shut down after 3rd. I cant believe he told me he runs 10.90's..

BTW: before we ran, he popped his hood and tells me its got a KB with a 2.2pulley. built bottom end, stock but stage 3 ported heads by livernoise and a 150shot and a AUTO!

Did he even have a blower on it? Any sign of nitrous?

Some people strap on drag radials and think they're John Force!

I saw the blower but no nitrous lines or anything. I know mustangs very good and I didnt see any signs of it being a built bottom end or any head work. never opened his trunk.

Just a question. How can you see a built bottom end?

either it wasnt done or it was factory installed because it was a damn good install. Ive never seen a install the clean. A/C, stock crank pulley. Ive done mustangs since before I got into LSX engines and Ive built a few to know what to look for. Plus a 2.2 pulley is good for 450hp MAX and thats safe on a stock bottom end.

That is exactly right. On the stock bottom end 450 is the absolute max for any kind of longevity in the motor. Anything over that is a ticking time bomb that ticks REALLY fast. It would put a rod through the oil pan before he got off of the lot. All have forged cranks but rods are the definite weakpoint.

Haha, this is classic.

My suspicions were confirmed. Nice kill!

Btw, I'm the silver Cobra you raced a few weeks ago. Did you ever post the videos?

Me. But I didn't kill him. Traction was a bi*ch and stock Z's are fast, lol.

I have a 2.8, tune, intake and exhaust.

Here is the thread.

Yeas, he showed everyone the KB one night. Everyone always thought his car wasn't as fast as he said. I was behind him when he raced a Civic and I had to slam on my brakes so I didn't rear-end him.
