Default 02 C5 vs 05 GTO

so i went to the a local spot down here in miami for some runs and there was this 05 GTO, that my friend already had set me up on runnin. anyways his mods are intake and a catback just like mine, except his was a 6spd. we ended up runnin 4 times, 3 from a dig and 1 from roll.

first dig run: me with the TC on and him launchin with it off. i honked it off and lets just sayin by the time i was at 120, i was a fender on him. the second dig run was exactly the same as the first one.

last dig run: me with the TC off and him also with it off. well i spun like no tomorrow and by that time, he was a car length ahead. when we shut it down i was only able to gain back a half car back, so he won.

30 roll: me with TC off and him the same. he instantly jumped out a car and it stayed like that until we shut down at 120.

so im 2-2 against a 6spd ls2 GTO

It was his gears....dont' seat it.........probably had some weight reduction too....I'm guessin'.....and/or some hidden mods, cause that doesn't sound right......esp. the roll.

I may not be right but isnt a 30 roll a bad spot for your vette with those gears and that tranny? Him being a T-56 and you a auto it sounds about right.
It's funny how everyone totally underestimates the gto's.

I should have made myself clear. I was mostly refering to the, him not catchign up. Byt that speed, I would have thought he would have gained his ground. With the 3.42s (?) of the GTO, I can see the jump, if not, I would have wondered why.

well from a roll i wasn't expectin to win considerin im an A4 with 2.73 gears, im just happy that i beat him where it counts, which is from a dig

oh and i guess i must of been pretty tired last night but i did managed to get to his door before we shutdown, so maybe i was inchin up on him. my gears aren' necessarily the best to pull on someone to

3.46:1 Final Drive
1st, 2.97
2nd, 2.07
3rd, 1.43
4th, 1.00
5th, 0.80
6th, 0.62

an LS2 GTO M6, should trap between 109-110mph with a CAI and CB. unfortunely, a lot of people can drive for crap, and the IRS makes it a little more difficult.
