ls1 vs lt1

Default ls1 vs lt1

sittin around talkin just off main last night and a white lt1 pulls up, talked to him a couple times befor. hes got a blown, ported heads, blower cam and bored 40 over lt1, running a centrifugal type blower (dont remember what brand) with a 9 psi pulley but hes only got 4 psi. we go up on the highway from a 40 roll, i 3 honk we both hit it and i start walkin away at 100 i was at least 3 cars in front. we didnt discuss how many car lengths thats why i say at least. after the race we pull off into a parking lot, talk for a bit and call it a night. i thought he was just going to rip ahead of me with no problem, talk about a suprise. really nice car though.

He had to be lying about alot of his mods. I dunno who runs a SC @ 4psi, there's no point it takes almost the power generated from 4 psi to spin that thing.

he said thats all the boost he could push, with the 9 psi pulley. i could hear the cam the blower and i saw the headers. if his heads were ported big enough is it possible the blower wouldnt keep up and run less boost than what the pulley is rated at like he said was goin on?

think he was lying about something. a H/C blown LT1 should slaughter a intake exhuast ls1 i would think. either he was lying about the mods, or he really is the worst driver ever, or if he does have that stuff it has to be the worst work ever on the install to make it that slow

sucks to know a bolt on ls1 beat an lt1 with ported heads, blower cam, blower and full bolt ons doesnt it?

EDIT: he ran a 12.7 at 110 on street tires..seems to me his lt1 is working alright

Something is definitely amiss with his car. Good kill though. Take them when you can get them.

2000zrocks was in the lt1 car, pm him and see what he thinks instead of calling bs

lol dude you really need to chill i know the ls1 motor is better but a lt1 car with that much work should be in the 11's or lower setup correctly i would think, nice kill none the less but i just dont think his car is all it should be, need to grow up some instead of throwing this crap out here

there are stock heads bolt-on lt1s running that doesnt sound like its working right to me.... ill give ya the good kill, never contested that, just all the stuff he had done. i know that on that kind of setup i could make somewhere around 500 at the wheels or maybe higher, still good kill i just dont think his lt1 is doing to great for that kind of setup
